That would be great but same as Bettis... they will fuck him over and make him wait!!!!
Not sure he got fucked. Sometimes it's all about timing. Only so many players get in a year. Bettis was a great back. Wish he had
Been on my team. But do you think he was top 10 all time? If not then IMHO he didn't get screwed.

One of the few Steelers players who wasn't a cheap shot artist *cough* Hines Ward *cough*. 1st ballot, no doubter HOF'er.

Lets hope he doesn't turn into a vegetable now.

Bettis shouldn't even be in the HOF. He barely was a top 10 RB in the era he played in, let alone all time.

Troy Polumala on the other hand is a HOF. Him and Reed fight it out for best safety of their era and both are top 10 EASILY of all time (probably both top 5).

 :suds:  :10:

Joking aside, he was one of the few Steelers I respected. Guy was a fucking beast, hell of a player. He helped make the rivalry what it is today.

Him and Reed were 1a and 1b for best safeties in this era of football.

Now I hope Reed officially retires now so they both can be in the same HOF class in 5 years.

All good things must come to an end. I, for one, love his hair!

Looking forward to seeing him in a gold blazer in Canton in 5 years!

I always throw Rodney Harrison in there as well. He was just disliked.

The Steelers are w/o doubt one of the elite franchises in the NFL & all American pro sports. But they can be pretty rough when it comes to their vet stars! They nudged (read: pushed) Hines Ward & now Troy Polamalu to retire in black & yellow. They showed James Harrison the door when he still had a few yrs left - as shown by his return to the team! I'm not sure that the Pats don't have a better way of handling this situation. They just sever ties cleanly & let the player & the media react. I can respect the all business approach much more than publicly shaming a franchise legend into retirement...

I hope the Steelers can find some way to keep him around as a role model for the younger players. Safeties are the QBs of the defense, they need to be able to read and process what is going on over the whole field of play fast and make the right decisions.

Black & yellow? In Pittsburgh, we wear black & GOLD.

I'm rockin' my #43 jersey today.
