When healthy he was as big of an impact player as I've seen. He was involved on every single play.

Wow. An all time great. He had a spectacular career, utilizing great hair along the way.

The only bad thing I can say about Troy Polamalu is that he never played for the Falcons. He played with a lot of heart and it's really hard for me to hate a guy who hustles on every play.

Glad to see him make the right decision... And also appreciated his comment "I did not seriously consider playing elsewhere". We were all worried about that! Sad to see him go... There will never be another like Troy Polamalu in the NFL, the player or the person. He was the epitome of Steeler football, and he will go down as one of the greatest of the NFL and most certainly the franchise. He leaves this franchise with one of the greatest legacies that it has ever known. For younger generations that didn't get to watch him in his prime, his legend is going to grow by them. Just you wait and see...

Thank you Troy... We love ya! It was a pleasure & an honor getting to watch you for 12 seasons. Next stop... Canton!

:salute:

PS. Hard not to feel shell shocked. 2 legends leaving that side of the ball... Poly & Lebeau... An entirely new feeling. Not to mention it's going to be difficult to break the habit of always locating Polamalu on the field prior to every defensive snap. His play ALWAYS demanded everyones attention.

If a Baltimore fan comes in here and tries to start up that bullshit Polamalu vs. Reed debate... I will stab them in the jaw

Great player, great career. Kind of glad he's going out now and not later when his skills and health deminish a great legacy. Props to going out as Steeler. I love when someone sticks with a team for their career. Going to hate seeing Wilfork playing in a different uni this year.

Holy mother of God that kid's mouth puts Steven Tyler to SHAME.

That said, Troy was a great player. One of the best safeties to play the game for sure. He took over games, much like Lott/Reed, etc.

Great player. Have to say, however, that his hair did absolutely nothing for me.

Since Troy Polamalu entered NFL in 2003, he and Charles Woodson are only players with at least 30 INTs, 10 forced fumbles and 10 sacks.

troy was a gambler back there but his instincts were sound, until his body failed him.

he relied so heavily on "instinct" over scheme. he got burned a lot, but also made a lot of plays that way.
