it was absolute genius...

its what belichick does...finds loopholes, abuses them, league makes a rule change.

he really is smarter than anyone else in the room as far as football goes.

This play has been around for a long time and used at many different levels of football. The NFL does not want this type of stuff in the league so they set a limitation on it. I don't see where BB is the genius for using plays that were designed by other coaches.

It's like the hidden receiver play that gets used in high school. It's almost impossible to pull it off in the NFL due to the fact that the player's shoulders must be squared to the LOS and line up 5 yards from the sideline.

What a bunch of BS. Change a rule that's been around forever, because it's deceptive? The entire history of the game is based on deception. Might as well get rid of the play action pass, how dare they fake the run.

At least college rules still allow it... Alabama ran that same play during the SEC championship this past year.

If Glenn Scobey Warner coached today, he'd be banned for life.

It's been around forever and, yet, the rule changes as soon as Belichick exploits it. Sour grapes, my man!

NEWSFLASH!!! The "Hidden ball trick" has been replaced by the "visible football gambit". Deception isn't fair! Did you see how badly Harbaugh contorted his face after it happened? Rule has to change.

It was a total Bitch move by the Pats IMO and they definitely came off more like bitches than a team that "knew the rules"

It's only a "bitch move" because your coach never thought to do it!

For the slow and mentally challenged , let me help you get the slobber off your chin.....
It was not a mind boggling formation, the only thing that caused it to be effective is that the Patsies were in the hurry up and it is "not " enough time to adjust once you identify the IP.....
That's the only gripe with it, and BB was smart to use it because he knew if he didn't come up with something, they were gonna lose....
And here's your towel to wipe your chin with; the majority of the owners voted that it is unfair and to ban it, but no one expects fans from the #1 cheating team in the league to admit it......
What sets you idiots apart from the rest of the leagues fans is that although it was a gift , your team just won the SB and all you poop breath bozos can do is whine over things that don't matter now....Brilliant !!!!

Oldschool - You have to admit even with the hurry up offense your coaches job is to get his team in line, no? Harbaugh didn't do it and it burnt him and he got pissed.

Actually you had the ref, Bill Vinovich telling your defense #34 was ineligible... and then further telling the Ravens defenders (who evidently don't have a single brain cell to spare) - "do not cover #34" which should have gotten Vinovich fined and/or suspended. Instead, Vinovich was rewarded the superbowl??!! In the Superbowl press conference before the game, (with his boss sitting right next to him) the buffoon admitted he told the Raven defenders "who not to cover" - which resulted in the rebuke from his boss "Which we will not do Sunday".

If anything, the Pats had a legitimate grievance if they chose to pursue it. You can't have a referee telling the defense who not to cover - and Bill Vinovich had no business in the Superbowl, let alone the playoffs. The fact he didn't know what he was doing was wrong (being an active participant) was mind blowing.

Ref aided cheating right there, all inspired by whinebaugh.

Listen very slowly now, the owners determined it was unfair to use it in that way because it doesn't allow the other team time to adjust....So they banned it....
But what do these stupid Billionaire owners know about pro football, why they only wish they were as brilliant as you 3 stooges.......

He was trying to tell the ref that he didn't signal but they flagged him.
As I've already said, the owners have decided it's unfair, not the fans.
So it is a credible decision....Done, the end...

What is it with this guy Rock Strongo, he posts a statement from the league that a play has been banned, then makes a dumb statement to Ravens fans like we ordered it up.........and then has nothing else to say, only emoticons.....Who taught him how to debate, Homer Simpson ?

It's guys like you who think the Saint's on side kick to begin the second half of the Superbowl against the Colts was "bush league".

No, not at all. One is ballsy, the other is...well, it's just a bitch move. Can't think of another way to say it. It's typical Patriots and Belichick.

It's well documented that Harbaugh whined about it as deceptive - hence the title. Then it was slowed down for him to a point where the ref was telling the Ravens who was not eligible and who not to cover. Now they've change the rules not allowing an player with eligible number outside of the tackle box to report as ineligible because certain teams are too effing stupid to figure it out, even when told. College has made no such rule change.

Harbaugh believes the Patriots should have been penalized for the "deceptive" substitutions utilized on those plays.

Vinovich to hairball "coach are you ready I set your D for you". Sorry allowing a team to come back from 14 points TWICE, well that's all on you. Couldn't your brother help you? Or why did yoh have him on the sideline?

You guys honestly think those 3 non-scoring plays made that much of a difference in the game? And Harbaugh/the Ravens even blaming the loss on them?

The Ravens didn't even submit the request to change the rule. Nobody lost sleep over those plays. Swing and a miss Pats fans......

But they DID post a pretty effin' whiny tweet about it. You have to expect flak for that.
