Some fans are cool w shit.

What this... your a full blooded Dolphins fan now? Insert Lions History here _____________!!!

Yet if one of us from the "kool-aid drinkers association" had the nerve, the audacity, to suggest [STRIKE]that we're going to go out and do great next season[/STRIKE] you guys would be up one side of us and down the other, [STRIKE]because we don't know what's going to happen yet[/STRIKE].

That seems to sum up the double-standard on this board pretty well.

On CBS if you weren't apart of the inner-circle and what the inner-circle thought you were an outsider, even if you were a Lions fan. Lol... nothing has changed.

The original comment was about how well Tapp, Johnson, and a few other minor moves panned out. And yes they did and it may have been Austin's system or it could have been because they had Suh drawing double and triple teams.

My point was the Lions didn't win anything and with the extra cap space the belief is they could have upgraded some holes or problem areas which did not happen.

While year two in a system may help it also gives coordinators tape to scheme on. The Lions were pitiful vs slot receivers and without addressing that I would expect it to be attacked again.

Not hating but if thats what people want to believe great. I choose not to see this offseason as kool aid and cornbread festival.

And for the record I was for drafting Stafford,
against trading for a unnamed Jacksonville WR,
Paying Suh over 18 million a season,
or extending Calvin well into his 30's with another restructuring deal.

Just in case we need to post our Lions belief resume.

The outer circle > the inner circle.

Nicer weather and better DT's.

Hello, I'm Matt Dillion and I have internet.
No Sodapop, I don't need it.

I'm not a fan of the front office, yea, I know if someone leaves or gets fired doesn't mean the boss is bad at his job. With Calvin, Stafford and Suh contracts I saw Cliff Avril going somewhere else (Seattle) because the Lions couldn't give what Avril was asking for. Ya'll might not like it now with Suh hitting the road for Miami, but later on when Levy, Ansah and Slay are due for Contract extensions your probably going to be singing a different tune because the Lions have the cap space to get the deals done.

Yer not getting my decoder ring.

(Slay maybe. Not levy. He rode Suhs nuts to a bunch of tackles. Dudes already peaked. )

A good GM can draft another Slay Levy or even Ansah. But another Suh will never ever again fall on their lap.

I wouldn't know how to use it.

Okay, Ansah, Slay and someone else that makes an impact for the Lions.

But another Suh will never ever again fall on their lap.

History shows a team can get to the Super Bowl without him. With that being said, if the Lions "EVER TRY" to get to the Super Bowl it will be without Suh.

Just support everything a MM does, over value old scrubs, wave it around, n TPaul likes yer posts. It's kinda low tech really.

I haven't liked the front office since the 90's. I don't hold anything against anyone if they wanna support a team with their cash to suck. One and done in the Playoffs, rule changes, there all NFL excuses. Honestly, that's all I see is an organization doin' as little as possible only to appease the fan base to keep them holding on while the NFL makes money. The Ford family may be happy with the ineptness of the organization, but my money stays in my pocket because I wont allow the NFL to cheat me.

I don't think this offseason is all "cornbread and koolaid", but it sure isn't the shit storm many have proclaimed it is. Just b/c we don't make huge splashes in FA doesn't mean our team is worse. Sometimes, new additions don't really mesh well with the rest of the team.

Would people be happy if we went out and spent a bunch of our freed up money on a "star" and have that star be a complete waste of money as he never helped out the team the way everyone hoped? I guess that's why I'm reserving judgement on our offseason until the season is in full swing. As stated before, many many on here ripped apart some of our signings last year. But some of those signings sure helped us reach the playoffs.

We even had a midseason signing(Prater) that tremendously helped out this team last year. And he's being rewarded this offseason. Not everything, imo, has to be done immediately for an impact to have been had.

I agree what I wanted to see is guys that can be plugged into areas that needed to be addressed.

CB for slot
Guard
2-3 DTs minus Suh
Kick returner

Some of the best money spent is on solid guys that are not first day FA signees. I just don't see any area addressed and with limited draft picks it will not be in the draft.

We added 2 DTs. One is an all pro and the other was courted by the Patriots(the greatest organization of all time according to some on the board) but turned down a multi year deal to play with us.

Also, even after Suh left, we still didn't have a TON of money to throw around as we still need to sign draft picks. I think we'll be ok. I leave the freaking out to others.
