This is a good pick up. He should start. Allows us to move Amerson either to the slot or potentially to safety.
What Amerson supporters are you looking for? I haven't seen anyone that was happy with his performance last year. But I, for one, am not ready to give up on him. He played much better his rookie year. He has potential, so it would be idiotic to dump him if that's what you are implying. He can play the slot. Hell, we might be able to move him to Safety. Its no always a zero sum game, dean. Its not unusual for a young CB to struggle. That doesn't mean you give up on him. I actually am somewhat comfortable now with our CB situation. We have good starters (not great) and we have depth. Now if we can get some safety help, out defense should be significantly improved.Nice signing but I don't like the money. He is getting paid like a #1 CB but the contract is on par on what the other 27 year old CBs are getting. This should mean the end to HAll and Porter. If we draft Waynes we would be set at Cb for a long time. I guess the origination doesn't seem to be to high on Amerson. IF they were why sign basically a #1 Cb in FA. Where are the Amerson supporters out there? Explain this move.
I did have some concerns about character issues reading up on him. Also the ghey player comments that he apologized for.Culliver really came on last year and was a good corner the last half of the year. If he can stay healthy, you are getting a quality corner. The only possible negative is he has legal issues pending and a league suspension could be looming

What was the general take by Niners fan on these issues? Was there a feeling he had grown up?
The existence of a 4 yr deal from us that wasn't on the cheap makes me think the Skins consider the legal stuff a non issue. But the character stuff is always a worry. Curious about your thoughts on him in that dept.
