have they said if they are going to sign Hoyer? Guess he might become the priority, at least short term

He wants a lot of money and is not happy with the front office.

I guess Manziel is not the answer.

They went away from him real quick, I'd be kind of offended personally if I were Hoyer. Offended not so much that he was replaced, but moreso that it was Manziel... really?

When they drafted franchise QB Johnny Football

You dont believe that, do you? I'm sure they had high hopes for him, but I doubt they ever considered their search over.

Tough love to be a Browns fan right now. What if they found the perfect QB and went to the Superbowl? I would have to root for them.

If they were smart...

Nevermind, roll with Maziel & let Hoyer walk in free agency.

Maybe Manziel should buy a big black tent, set it up across the street from Tebow's big white tent and sell booze and hookers to people leaving the revival meetings. Big money in hookers, booze and religion.

The Browns should go all out to get Jameis Winston. The Dynamic Duo of JW and Johnny "College" Football would be pure entertainment.

I don't think it was real quick, he got 12+ games, but at the same time he had not really played himself out of the job imo...it was probably a case where they had lost a few games and somebody (owner) wanted to see "his" pick on the field...Shanahan clearly did not want to start JM.

FWIW...Hoyer should not get a huge deal...he's really just a stop gap QB...perfect for what CLE needs right now.

I think they're gonna find a way to keep Hoyer (I hope so anyhow).

They have a good defense. If the Browns can just find some sort of offense, they can be pretty decent.

The Browns have a large amount of cap space right now, so I wouldn't be surprised if they took a run at Hoyer or tried to bring in a free agent QB if they cannot resign Hoyer.

What they need more than anything right now are receivers. Their crew last year was OK, but didn't consist of any real playmakers or anyone that could get good consistent separation. That forced a lot of check downs, which teams eventually adapted to defending.

They should keep Hoyer. He did well last year until he was told (by text apparently) to force feed Gordon when he came back.
