Well Big12-ish, that didn't take long now did it? "Everyone plays everyone so we will have a TRUE champion, except when one has a head to head win over another in which case we will have a tie...unlike those of you with a championship game that actually determines a champion".

Couldn't even make it one year with that stupid slogan. :pound:

^ mad being stuck in SEC now and only having one team making the playoffs.

Wisky beat Brasky in 2012 to be the conference champ. There is no "co-champ" crap, just a champ. If your question is who is the best, then I guess we need all Div1 teams to play each other every year :noidea:

Do you think the best team in any sport is always the one that wins the Championship? Hardly.

So your argument is a technicality based argument? So in the same vein: if we set up arbitrary rules to draw lots for the champ, then technicality that's a champ in your view?

No. Of course not. That's dumb right?

The champ is supposed to represent the best team. Round robin IS the best way to do that. Hands down.

Just because some dumb ass commish is lobbying for a playoff spot doesn't undo that truth.

Round robin is the best way to get the one true champ. Period.

only reason the big 12 is even entertaining this is because the voters are too dumb to vote Baylor ahead of TCU.

The committee has it right. TCU is the better team and deserves to be ahead of Baylor.

I got no argument with that today.

TCU is very likely going to blow Iowa State off the gridiron, and Baylor is very likely going to struggle to put away K-State or even outright lose the game based on Petty's effectiveness, or whether backup QB Seth Russell plays/can move the ball.

The head to head might carry some weight but overall TCU has just looked better in 10 other games than the Bares have.

If we get not one, but TWO Christmas miracles, those being 1) Baylor stomps the Wildcats 2) TCU struggles with the Cyclones, then the Waco bunch might get a special envelope on Sunday afternoon. But both of those together are just too unlikely. ISU is like a 33 point road dog, no way the Frawgs LOSE the game.

Fuck the Big 12 for not having a championship game. And it's chicken shit if they crown co-champs.

BAYLOR will not be ranked 6 or 5 while TCU is ranked 4 in the final poll.

I guaran fucking tee that shit.
More than I'd ever guarantee anything about cfb

Bookmark, etch in stone, tattoo it to your forehead.

No possible way (save some weird game ending injury) that BAYLOR is 5 or 6 while TCU is 4

Why do we need a sissy ass CCG if we make every team play every other team, you dumb truck?

All the major conferences have a championship game except Big12. They should all play one or no one plays it.

They play it because there are 2 divisions and many times the top 2 teams have not played. You need a CCG, because of unbalanced schedules. Not sure why you would need to schedule a rematch ever year in the Big 12.

Everyone plays each other, great. But if you end in a tie then how is it more of a "TRUE" champion than a game where an actual champion is crowned? Either the league got it wrong in their slogan or they plan on getting it wrong if TCU and BU win this weekend.

When it comes to crowning a "true champion" neither way is without it's flaws. In the round robin format, you can end up with ties like we see in the Big 12 where Baylor won the head to head, but lost by 2 touchdowns to a team that TCU beat.

However, with a CCG, you can end up with an unnecessary re-match in the championship game. Example, Oregon lost to Arizona, suppose Arizona had finished their season with the same record as Oregon. Why should Arizona have to beat Oregon a 2nd time to win the PAC?

With the way the PAC season worked out, Oregon finished with the best record in the conference. Why should they have to beat Arizona to be considered champs when they already finished with the best record?

When the PAC was round robin and there was a tie, they would declare the teams "co-champions" and the winner of the head to head went to the Rose Bowl or NCG while the loser usually went to a different BCS bowl.

There's no tie. Head to head is a universally accepted way to decide things. Always.

BAYLOR is the champ if they win out.

Done

Period.

End of all story.

Absolutely and 100% agreed on by all of us.

Dunski.

The CCG is just another thing to add to the resume. Why would you be against this if it helps get you into the top 4?

It isn't a tie, winner of the head to head is the champion. Regardless what the media, committee, or even the conference say. Head to head is all that matters, especially if you have as massive of a choke job as TCU had.

That is completely false. Both teams will get championship trophies, and be officially recognized as co champions by the conference. It was the same way in 2012 with KSU, and OU.

No the co-champ rules have been a part of the Big 12 since it went to 10 teams. We were co champs with KSU in 2012 despite them beating us.

What does it really add? Plus it increases the odds of a lesser team winning the Championship
