Well Big12-ish, that didn't take long now did it? "Everyone plays everyone so we will have a TRUE champion, except when one has a head to head win over another in which case we will have a tie...unlike those of you with a championship game that actually determines a champion".

Couldn't even make it one year with that stupid slogan. :pound:

It isn't a tie, winner of the head to head is the champion. Regardless what the media, committee, or even the conference say. Head to head is all that matters, especially if you have as massive of a choke job as TCU had.

Yeah, Aggie argumentation skills.

When one team beats the other, that's the Champ.

pretty easy.

Fuck whoever says otherwise... ... commissioner two-step hedging... whatever.

It's fairly easy: head to head winner is champ..

Done.

That's how it should be.

Now, of course, if they had a repeat of 2008 where Texas beat OU, OU beat Texas Tech and then Texas Tech beat Texas, that would be pretty entertaining.

To be fair the refs pretty much gave Baylor the game vs. Tcu with the pass interference call.

2 messed up PI calls... the NON-call and the actual call.

only reason the big 12 is even entertaining this is because the voters are too dumb to vote Baylor ahead of TCU.

I completely get that. But after a years worth of "One TRUE Champion" commercials, its just funny to me to that it falls flat on its face in the first year.

The "refs" allowed Baylor to come back down 21 and gave up 24 unanswered points with 10 minutes left in the game? Nope, don't buy it.

Add in the fact that Baylor played a joke of a non conference schedule and also that Art Briles is a douche and always has the dirtiest players in the league I think Tcu gets the nod.

No. Did you watch the game?
The refs no-called an obvious PI that would have extended the TCU drive to seal the game.

Then on the next drive bailed out Baylor on a phantom PI call.

Both were egregious and obvious.

Oh i completely agree, i wish the big 12 would crown Baylor the champ(if they win) and not worry about what the voters do.

Its based on everyone playing each other, not because 1 team will have the best record.

Ok, fine. That's 14 points. Where did the other 10 come from? Choke job, doesn't matter TCU shouldn't have lost a game with a 21 point lead in the 4th. In no way do they deserve to get in over Baylor.

Everyone plays each other, great. But if you end in a tie then how is it more of a "TRUE" champion than a game where an actual champion is crowned? Either the league got it wrong in their slogan or they plan on getting it wrong if TCU and BU win this weekend.

I mocked the "One True Champion" in another thread earlier in the year.

Kind of funny, how the Big 12 went into spin mode on this instead of sticking to what they wrote as the rules.

Tiebreaker Procedures - Big 12 Conference - Official Athletic Site

a. If two teams are tied, the winner of the game between the two tied teams shall be the representative.

Instead of this

Should No. 5 TCU and No. 7 Baylor both win Saturday and each finish the season 11-1, Bowlsby said the league would inform the 12-member selection committee it has co-champions, in spite of Baylor's 61-58 win over TCU on Oct. 11. The committee has had TCU ranked ahead of Baylor for all five of its rankings this season.

No games can end in a tie, so playing each other is in fact the best way to crown a champ. Baylor is the champ in your scenerio, since they actually beat TCU. Conf title games aren't really a good way to crown a champ, mizzou would be ranked 4th at best in the SEC west.

It is easier to change rules when they want things to follow an agenda, isn't it?

Another reason using a committee to pick teams rather than rewarding that win conference titles is a complete and utter fail.
