Something just tells me TCU is destined to play in the title game this year. There is something special about that team.

I still think that FSU has another gear remaining and will step thing up down the stretch. Winston might be a jerk off the field, however on the field he is an excellent passer, runner as well as one of the best team leaders in the nation. The FSU defense has been lacking and it's difficult for me to see the problem and that's where Winston comes into play. He has that unique ability to rally the troops on both sides of the ball.


Ball control beats Oregon. They might make the final four and will lose 1st game because all those teams that will be there will have better ball control skills and Mariota will not get enough snaps to work his incredible magic.


Michigan State is the team to watch. If they run the table and a couple of teams lose; they just might get in and if they do, I pick that team to win it all. They have a better than average defense and a very good offense with a good combination of passing and running. Their quarterback is an excellent runner and passer.

I picked them to win it all in the "Midseason CFP Predict" thread I posted several weeks ago. I think that defense will solidify and they have a coach I consider top-3 in CFB

It does seem contradictory. That said, the game was early and at Eugene. Michigan State, IMO, had that game won and left the girl they brought to the dance. Don't think they make that mistake if they get a mulligan. The way to beat Michigan State is to keep Mariota on the field. I think we will learn something about Michigan State when they play Ohio State. If Ohio State can play them close at Michigan State, then maybe my opinion of Michigan State is inflated. At this point, IMO, they are as good as any team in the country....and that's why they play the game.

I will answer your question on the defense. Losing your starting lone senior DT who has played a lot of ball. Replacing him with either a JR who has not played much or one of two true freshman. Also replacing 4 senior defensive starters with sophomores. Joyner is replaced by sophomore Jalen Ramsey. Christian Jones is replaced by sophomore Chris Casher or freshmen Lorenzo Featherstone/Demarcus Walker. Telvin Smith replaced by sophomore Reggie Northrup. Terrance Brooks replaced by sophomore Nate Andrews.

Lost all the leadership. Do not get enough pressure or penetration from the DL without Niles Lawrence-Stample because now teams are double teaming Mario Edwards Jr. Until the young DTs show up it will continue because they have to play nickel the entire game.
