Today's announcement that RGIII will start against the Vikings did NOT come from the HC or team sources. Instead it comes from a tweet originated by RGIII himself. That on its' own merit is troubling, as it appears to be an end run against what some assume is the chain of command in this organization. If true (tweet by himself) it undermines the authority of the HC and without repercussions re-establishes #10 as having the backing of higher ups. The remedy is as obvious as could be in this matter. The HC should immediately bench RGIII for this game or begin to look for employment elsewhere.

If you think Colt gives them a better chance than Griffin on Sunday that's fine but don't go around looking for something to bitch about like a tweet. A tweet? Where's the CSI? The sources stating that RGIII will be starting on Sunday are coming from everywhere EXCEPT where it's supposed to come from......GRUDEN!!! It puts Gruden in a bad position as he continues to say that the rest of the week of practice coupled with a clearance by team doctors will determine IF he plays or not. If anyone can not see that by doing things this way it makes the HC look foolish, then there's no way to get that point into your consciousness.

Dad I will agree with you on the point that Gruden needs to show some sack......even if it means keeping a fully prepared and healthy RGIII on the bench for going behind his back and as you've said "putting (unnecessary.... my term) pressure on the coaches."

Yep - for better or worse I want a QB who wants to return & play. I don't want a player who would basically say "I feel good but you what - just keep me on the bench for the whole year". Sounds like we have Bananaman Part 2 on this board.

OK guys, keep attacking the messenger, but if you're going to do it at least come with something that makes sense.

To your point, even if it was a communication DIRECTLY from the HC, leaked via another player, coach or (social) media source it did not come directly from the HC as it should have. He has subsequently continued to stick with his original position, clearly not aware that those sources have betrayed a confidence. I guarantee you that if Gruden wanted it known he would have said so in his presser instead of what he ACTUALLY said.
