Ok I'm not sure if we are trying to avoid this subject all together since I kinda agree it's annoying as hell but it won't go away and I need to post about it since it's annoying me. Feel free to ignore this if you hate this "story":

Peyton Manning pursuit began Jim Harbaugh rift with San Francisco 49ers - ESPN

I usually don't give a shit about the "sports media" and their sensationalism but how convenient that this story is now about Alex Smith the week we play...Alex Smith. Who are these "players" or "sources" that keep telling the media this. Even if there is some kinda of crazy hatred for Harbaugh in the locker room, who are the assholes feeding into this story? Why would any player (or front office) do something like this? What are the gaining by doing so?

Im so sick of the media drama over Harbaugh. these out siders have no clue whats going on. If something was bad u would hear it from 1-2 players already. Not 1 player has said anything negative. Media is a joke.

That's kind of what I am feeling too. Like if it were players why don't they just say something? Why would they hide?

A theory I've heard now is that this is all the front office's doing and that they are just trying to paint Harbaugh as a coach that has no control over the locker room/coach that the players hate so they can justify canning him after the crazy amount of success he's had. I have no idea what is actually going on in that locker room (if anything) but my guess is NO ONE does.

If there are real problems with Harbaugh fine, it happens in professional sports, but jesus leave that shit IN the locker room for the season. Creating this media firestorm that won't go away is in no way good for the 49ers so whoever is continuing to stoke this fire from inside the 49ers needs to cut it the fuck out.

I think Niner fans are the ones who give the least shit about this Harbaugh drama. Everyone I know supports Harbaugh 100% and still, we don't speak ill of York or Baalke.

I watched the Fox Sports 1 morning show and for whatever reason, they brought Strahan in to get some insight when they had Moss RIGHT THERE at the table! He didn't have anything bad to say but all I got out of it was him saying that Harbaugh treated his players like he did with the kids at Stanford but that he needed to remember they were vets.

And he just left it at that.

smh I mean, if you're going to have someone answer any questions, why don't they ask the guy that was actually IN the locker room?

I think it's clear the media hates us. Every Harbaugh/49er story pops up on a Sunday either before or after a game. You can't tell me thier no agenda there. Plus what kind of report comes out and say they will let Harbaugh go even if he wins a Superbowl.

@JedYork Jim is my coach. We are trying to win a SB, not a personality or popularity contest. Any more questions?

Maybe if some of the 'vets' on this team would stay out of trouble off of the field then maybe Harbs wouldn't treat them like the kids they are. I do agree that this is not an issue for the media when Boone and Crabs have openly said there are no issues. How many more players need to speak up to stop this? This will be a season long story.....buckle up!

Tell you this if Tomsula takes over as head coach. His first order should be to fire Greg Roman and hire an OC. That knows how to coach offense.

The media should wait until we lose again to run these ridiculous stories. For example, Trent Dilfer's statements were based on interpreting body language. At any rate, winning solves everything.

I see no drama. Its all fake. Media has nothing better to do. We look like a team. Today was a great win and we worked on not making dumb penalties. Good job overall. Great game by dawson

Makes no sense because then it drops Harbaughs trade value if they decide to trade him after this season. If anything it would be all positive.

I noticed that. its either on Friday, sat or Sunday morning. Its a freaking joke. They have nothing better to talk about so people make up stuff. Looking from the outside and looking at the locker room videos these players are together and they love harbaugh. After a win players are always hugging Harbaugh and the coaching staff.

Not to get on a soapbox, but this is a media issue, not a Harbaugh/49er issue. The media is problematic in that it has systematic ADHD coupled with our societal hunger for gossip and bullshit.

ADHD:
The media (no pun intended) beat the preverbal dead horse with both the domestic violence/child abuse bullshit. The media works the public into a frenzy while leaning towards speed as opposed to accuracy, so people typically gravitate towards what the BREAKING NEWS is. Ray McDonald was unfortunately part of the narrative when his DV case is miles different from, say, Greg Hardy or Ray Rice, simply because the media is deciding to use the facts of the case as an afterthought because public outrage AND RATINGS dictate that its more profitable to do so.
When interest in the DV/child abuse story started to wane, they went ahead and started to jump on the relative non-story of tension between Harbaugh and management regarding his contract negotiations. Now, you see story after story about Harbaugh losing his locker room and Harbaugh's prickliness towards the media means that to people who are not following the Niners the way we do see this scenario as plausible.

"The TMZ Effect":
Unfortunately, our society relishes in drama and the media likes to feed that beast. With Harbaugh, you have a HUGELY intense individual who is animated, who is prickly with the media, but who has been wildly effective everywhere he has coached. You have a contract situation where he wants to be the highest paid coach and York wants another Lombardi before he pays that kind of contract out.
Aldon Smith out 9 weeks, McDonald DV case, Boone and VD holding out, Bowman out, Dorsey out, Anthony Davis out, Brock out, new secondary, These are all plausible reasons why our team struggled as they figured out how to replace these players in their absence. But that doesn't move the proverbial needle. Harbaugh not getting along with someone is more in their wheelhouse with regards to ratings for the media then what is the truth. Never mind that Willis, Justin Smith, Kap, Gore, Crabtree, Bethea, Boone, mostly KEY players on this squad jumped to support Harbaugh after a two week barrage of bullshit from the media. As the Niners continue to win, the media will predictably move on to the next story that will move the needle.

My Take:
Having Harbaugh and Baalke not seeing eye to eye on some roster management issues is a non-issue to me. These guys are very similar but they also have some views that don't align...but it doesn't seem to be a situation that is toxic at all. In my opinion, that is GREAT for an organization. Differing views means deeper discussion on the status of whatever topic is being discussed. I run an organization and my right hand woman doesn't always see eye to eye with me either, but it doesn't mean that I suddenly minimize her impact on my organization or her opinions towards bettering our organization. Some of her ideas have helped our organization tremendously and on occasion, her arguments towards a topic have swayed my views more towards what she has proposed.
It drives me nuts that not one "source" has the balls to "put his/her name in it" to any of these complaints that they have, yet the media has no problem painting a picture of total disfunction within the organization. Trent Dilfer has already somewhat backtracked on his comments. Jay Glazer was pretty much debunked by Jed York today on the Rich Eisen Show. The media simply needs to realize that the story they keep pushing for frankly isn't there and they need to find another topic to beat to death.

I'm off my soapbox. In summary, I'm going to channel my inner-Tupac. Fuck Dilfer, fuck Deion, fuck the media as a bullshit group of individuals looking to see their grills on TV or their names repeated in print. If you are blindly believing people simply trying to create chaos, then fuck you too.

Buzz: Harbaugh Controversy Will Linger Until 49ers CEO Makes Contract Decision | Bleacher Report

Perfect timing with regards to bullshit continued. I check my Facebook and this story pops up from Bleacher Report.

Never mind the TRUTH that both York and Harbaugh have agreed to wait to talk contract until after the season is over. But hey, why print the truth when you can get clicks on a story far more sexy, albeit severely misleading.
I didn't watch the video on the thread but I'm guessing it's the same old BS. More will pop up before gametime next Monday and NFL Network is leading the charge:

Jed York: Harbaugh report 'categorically not true' - NFL.com

nothing new, the media takes it to one extreme (its bad), and 49er fans take it to the other (its good). where there's smoke there's fire, so the truth lies in between. Lets just play this season and let this situation play out AFTER its over.

we all like to think it is one big happy family, and Harbaugh will continue to lead us to the NFC Championship (or SB). We all want to think the FO is all in sync, and ALL players will 'jump in the fire' for Harbaugh. But if there is enough truth to the 'bad' side, we are better off changing the HC. a good HC (Harbaugh) with fractured FO and players, won't get far anyway.
