A 98 ERA+ is great? The league ERA in the NL was 3.66.

He's certainly pitched better in the 2nd half (2.92 ERA and 54/19 K/BB in 74 innings) after having command issues in the 1st half (74/53 K/BB in 109 innings). But he's still not striking guys out, and seeing a 23-year-old's strikeout rate drop from 8.8 to 6.2 is alarming.

He's a 23 year old with a career 3.33 ERA yeah I'd call that pretty great. Guy's have on and off years regarding K's and BB's. Shit Fransisco Liriano has made a living off that. He still allows less hits to innings pitch which is a huge key to sustaining any sort of career. The long ball numbers could be lowered however.

And sometimes you need to just watch the players and not rely on advanced stats every single time. There is a lot more to sports.

Mattingly benches Puig (.901 OPS vs. righties) for Ethier (.710 OPS vs. righties). Yeah.

No question Miller's had a good start to his career. But you said he's having a great year, which isn't quite true. As I said, he has had a much better 2nd half (he's cut down on the walks big time), so there's that.

Nope I said he is a "great pitcher". Nothing about his overall season. He has the stuff to shut down a lineup. Although many dodgers have hit him well in limited AB's.

Now as for Puig/Either. Lefty/Righty plays a big part. Puig's lack of any sort of contact plays a big part. And the fact that Eithier has already taken Miller yard probably is a factor.

This just in, Barkley said the Cards strike zone was turrible

who gives a fuck? Hit it over the fence like the Cards you whiny POS! Your pitchers have given up a boatload of HR's to the NL's worst HR hitting team...

i would say the strike zone impacted their ability to hit it over the fence. the 50-50 outside corner pitches were called balls for dodgers pitchers and strikes for cards pitchers. dodgers were forced to usd less of plate resulting in better hittable balls. is the best team winning here or the one that gets favorable calls. dont recall an advantage for dodgers in LA

Peralta just looks awful at the plate this series.

Kershaw with 63 pitches through 4 innings. Threw 91 last year on short rest. If he's looking to go at least 7 he's probably going to surpass that number.

That's frustrating as a Dodgers fan. You have a chance for a big inning and Kemp GIDP and you will probably only score 1 run for the inning

i went back to check, and Fox Sports 1 completely missed the Crawford at-bat to start the inning. i thought i was day-dreaming when A-Gon singled to put runners on the corners because i thought he was leading off the inning

Pete Kozma is so goddamn bad at baseball

Possibly worse than Harold Reynolds as a play by play guy

Blasphemy.

HR doesn't do pbp....he's the color analyst....and btw, he's very good at it..

Same thing and hes god fucking awful. He has no idea what the shit he is talking about ever.

Tried to suggest Miller was pitching around Ellis 0-2 with 2 outs none on in an inning to face Kershaw. Straight up moron.

FUCK PETE KOZMA. Motherfucker got on base 9 times in the 2012 NLDS and drove in 5 runs including the series-clinching ones in the 9th inning of game 5

It sounds like a couple of people probably went a bit too far but I have no problem with people supporting our police officers.

Miller has been a roller coaster since Ive been following him. He is still a leading candidate for successor to Wainwright longterm but Lynn is currently ahead of him and Wacha is on his heels.

some of the cards fans were morons and the protestors were equally stupid
