With Lacy having concussion issues, I'm ready to grab Starks.

I'd have to dump Freeman, I guy I'm high on given his talent and the fact that Jackson is no longer a spring chicken.

Dumb to dump Freeman/grab Starks?

If Lacy's out, I'd start Starks. Not sure I'd ever start Dwyer.

I would not make that move actually.

I like Freeman's theoretical upside, and Lacy will not be out long, if at all.

I agree with this... Short term mediocrity is not worth the long term good... Starks and dwyer are both at best flex guys, so is freeman but at least freeman has the potential to be there for longer...

1. Dwyer is terrible. I picked him up last year and watched his first game starting in place of bell and he is absolutely terrible. I have Ellington this year and had the chance to pick him up and didn't even think about it. He won't do anything with the cardinals. He can't catch passes or pass block well which makes me think he won't get much time. If you can start any other rb that will get the majority of play time, I would start him instead.

2. Starks value is tied to Lacys health. He had a concussion, but he had 10 days to get over it. I'd bank on him being back for game 2.

I agree with tlance, Milk and Fudge. To make room for a "temporary" fill-in, you could be sacrificing someone more worthy of fantasy stardom.

Devonta Freeman has seen almost a 1% drop off of fantasy rosters. If Steven Jackson's hammy flares up again Sunday, owners will be kicking themselves that they dumped him for a RB who will not hang on to his starting job (i.e. Dwyer & Starks).

In fact, Dwyer & Starks may only be slightly more relevant because of their experience. It would not surprise me to see Stepfan Taylor & DuJuan Harris emerge if Ellington or Lacy are out for a more extended period of time.

...one more thing...

Ellington is listed as "questionable" and has the dreaded "game-time decision" fantasy guillotine hanging over his head. Not an ideal situation, but it doesn't sound like he's as "out" as some early reports indicated.

there's one thing that a few are forgetting..this is concussion number 2 in less than a calender year. Most experts are convinced that getting one leads to getting more, and they become easier and easier to get. Starks may not be a short term fill in, or if he is, he may fill that role multiple times this season. He's every bit as valuable as a backup as Freeman, probably more seeing as ATL is almost assuredly going with a three man committee when SJAX breaks down, and with Freeman currently buried behind both Quizz and that other dude what's his name, no way of knowing what his role might be, if any.. So in either case, we need an injury to the starter to make the backup valuable, but at least with Starks, we know what his role would be. And with the concussion protocol the way it is, Lacy is every bit as likely to miss more time this year as SJAX is, IMHO. I'd make that move in any league outside of possibly a dynasty. And twice on Sunday

Treff- you love TWest- That is my call in another league. So you would pull the trigger- drop TWest for Starks?

And yes I have Ben Tate with TWest as the handcuff down the road.

That one's tougher. . Even though I have soured on West a little due to his bad preseason. But, he is the direct back up to Tate, a guy who is probably even more likely to miss time with an injury than anyone else discussed in this thread. Unlike Freeman, it's a real good bet that West gets at least a few games to try and be the lead back if Tate misses time. Heck is still possible something clicks and he straight up beats Tate, IMHO. I don't think I'd drop him for Starks.. seeing as they're both a little more similar than Starks/Freeman in their situations. And as I previously said, Tate is the most injury prone of the bunch.

I'd keep freeman. Starks is more valuable than Dwyer, but Jackson going down this season is almost a sure thing for me. Lacy could get another concussion, and his running style is very conducive to picking up concussions, but there is a reason the packers drafted two running backs last year, and that's because Starks and company were doing shitty.

I would. . Even with the opportunity to be a "lead" back, Dwyer still is not a great option. Starks could out gain him in about half the touches I think.

I just dropped Freeman for a kicker................with that said I dropped the kicker for a shot at Josh Gordon and figured to wait and see what happened..................wasn't easy to do but now it's starting ot look like Gordon will play at some point this year so that made it easier................point is I was still trying to figure a way to keep Freeman..................

I honestly don't get it. If Freeman was #2 on the depth chart, or even #3..I could see this being an issue. But SJAX could break his leg tomorrow and there's no promise that Freeman gets anything more than a handful of touches. If Lacy misses a game, Starks is easily in line for 15-20. Until Freeman climbs the chart, or IF he climbs the chart, it's an easy call in my book
