I figure making a list like this is an easy way to track how a team is doing, what their depth looks like and whether that team has any excuses.

The 3 Rams players who can't get injured:
1. Shaun Hill. No other QB on the team has experience. Even if they pick up someone, they'll need some time to groom.
2. Scott Wells. The dropoff from him to Tim Barnes is pretty big and C is underrated in importance
3. Alec Ogletree. LB depth isnt all that great and Ogletree is going to be asked to do a lot

The 3 Rams players who need to step up:
1. Janoris Jenkins. The only CB with pedigree and experience now that Trumaine Johnson is out.
2. Jared Cook. A mismatch with these new rules enforcement. Get him the ball!
3. Tavon Austin. Kinda goes without saying

Not to be a douche, but it would probably make more sense if this thread excluded QB's. Just because if any team loses their QB it could devastate the team because that position has such a large impact on the performance of the team.

I was actually thinking that because the gap between most teams 1s and 2s at QB is massive. That just hasnt been the case for the Rams

Any dropoff at all at the QB position can make a big impact. If you go from an average QB to a below average QB you could be looking at a top 10 pick easily.

Bears

Can't get hurt
Kyle Long (really anyone else on the Oline will cause the bears protection issues)
Jared Allen (our only good pass rusher)
Brandon Marshall/Alshon Jeffery (if one of the to Wrs goes out, teams will be able to consistently double team the other one. With Marquess Wilson out already who has the talent to step in for one or the other, the bears would be relying on a much worse wide out.)

Need to step up
Cutler
Bostic
Mundy

Not for the Bears. If Cutler gets injured, Trestman will have Clausen playing the best football of his life ala Josh McCown.

Remember when the Bears O-line was so bad a couple of years ago? That was one of the worst lines I've ever seen, EVER. All of sudden they're half decent though.

Yes, he's there twice on purpose. Their chances are low and only if he steps up and injury makes any of that impossible. Yes, I know, insert the "anyone can dump off to Charles, Cassel made Bowe, and Reid can upgrade any QB." I still thinks he's key to their chances, however low.

Can't get hurt

Collin Kaepernick: If Blaine has to play significant times as our QB season over.
Patrick Willis: With the loss of Bowman we cannot afford to have Whilhoite and Chris Borland as our starting MLB's <shudders>
Eric Reid: Arguably our best DB right now, there is no one currently on the roster that could adequately fill his shoes.

Needs to step up

Daniel Killgore: With Goodwin gone and Marcus Martin injured Killgore is the unquestioned week 1 starter he better be ready to play.
Chris Culliver: After a shaky end to the 2012 season and off the field issues he still has a starting job on this defense, its put up or shut up time.
Collin Kaepernick: Its time for Kaep to prove the critics wrong is he gonna be the QB that can rip up teams with his arm as well as his legs ?

True...I said Ben, but actually I think the team can win games with Gradkowki...on the road would scare me though.

Excluding QBs...DeCastro...pretty weak behind both OG spots.

As stated before, QB's should be pretty much a given.

AJ
Burfict
Gio

Bodine (starting rookie Center, going to have to hold up)
Kirkpatrick/Dennard (depth behind hall/newman is thin at CB)
Dunlap (going to have to pick it up at DE where Johnson left via F/A)
