Oh yeah...I totally bailed earlier and all I said was FUCK really elongated, because of Yu. I hope they just shut him down for the season.

On the off chance it's something serious and not just a smoke screen to shut him down, I will probably go more crazy than I already am and break things.

Gallo struck out all 5 times up last night. I have heard of the Golden Sombrero but not sure what that would be called.

RF Shin-Soo Choo had his fourth consecutive multi-strikeout game. Choo has 20 strikeouts in his last 48 at-bats.

And some thought he was seeing the ball better.

TAMPA BAY SEVENTH
Another inning-opening walk by RHP Miles Mikolas led to another multi-run inning. Mikolas hurt himself by failing to handle Joyce’s grounder to the mound. Rays 10, Rangers 1.

Entitled fans are annoying as fuck. He doesn't owe any fan a god damn thing. He's a human and sucked this year, but we take this shit way too far with players and say fucked up things about them. I know I've been guilty of it. So when one finally shows some emotion people wanna crucify them for it? Fuck that noise.
.

Reminds me of a game I attended in 2002. The rangers were playing the Jays. I was sitting about 15 rows around home plate. The park was pretty empty. A-rod came up to bat and he took a strike, then this Hispanic guy who was sitting directly behind me got up and screamed at the top of his lungs " c'mon Alex hit a home run and earn that 252 million dollar contract!". A-rod took a step out of the box, then glared directly at me as if I was the one that said it. It was a weird feeling, having a player mad at you for something you didn't say.

I'll never forget that game in Oakland where Frank Francisco threw the chair into the crowd. From what I heard, it sounded like those assholes deserved it because they were saying racial slurs.

No kidding!

might be the most interesting off season in years around Arlington.
Injuries? Yes, but not the entire story of 2014.

I'd say it accounts for about 70% of the story. I'd say JD made a couple missteps in counting on Harrison a Holland when he shouldn't have. Other than that, it's hard to cast much blame his way.

so many under performed. It's not all on JD.
I think they went overboard on landing a lead off guy and Prince must come back as he was in Detroit or Texas got the short end there. I'm not sold on the player evaluations and that also is a group effort.

Choo is just having a down year, and he's injured. He'll bounce back. Based on the numbers this year is clearly the anomaly. Prince is the big one for me. That deal could haunt us if he doesn't come back strong.

Also, Elvis needs to get his shit together. He's being paid way too much for the value he's putting out. We're going to need to make some smart moves regarding pitchers to have a shot next year and in 2016. Otherwise, we may have to wait a couple years for some players to develop.

no question elvis has played himself into being expendable if a deal comes along. Choo has been a solid major league player with a good eye at the plate but IMO...we grossly over valued him and the lead off position last winter with that signing. Not many played well that were counted on coming into the season. Martin has regressed and still plays with 2 cent judgment more than he should for the time being here. Rios has hit like a punch & judy hitter all season. The outfield has been a complete let down.
None of the relief pitchers we were counting on played near the standards expected. The catching position still looks like 3 part timers to me. I see a team that has regressed greatly and it's more than injuries to me which is why I said huge off season

Rios has definitely not lived up to expectations and Martin is just infuriating. There's no excuse for him continuing to play with no baseball iq whatsoever at this point. There's no question we over paid for choo. Unfortunately that's what you have to do in the FA market and we needed a lead off hitter that could so what he is capable of desperately because we had nobody to set the table for prince and Beltre. I still think he will end up making that deal look acceptable, but he won't provide surplus value.

You're right, our outfield needs help in a big way. Not a lot of great options out there. Melky might be our best shot at bolstering the lineup and this team. He'd slot in nicely at #2 provided our fearless leader doesn't fuck with him with hit and runs and bunts every time choo leads off by getting on base.

The catching situation is frustrating, but catchers are pretty watered down in general. There's just not many Molinas out there. Hopefully Alfaro answers our prayers. Soto is an acceptable starter, but you have got to have a better team in general so catcher isn't such a glaring issue.

If we as fans can dish the shit out, then we should be able to take it.

My problem with Hamilton was that the shit he talked was outright lies. The fans supported the hell out of him when he was a Ranger, and then he left and they responded accordingly.

he didnt just show emotion. Showing emotion is pumping his fist, beating his chest, screaming out, etc. He deliberately flipped the fans off. Huge difference.

Hamilton didnt "lie" about anything. I truly believe he feels like we arent a baseball town. We supported him, but we definitely booed him virtually that whole september. So, using your words, "if we as fans can dish the shit out, then we should be able to take it."

Totally on board with ya with your first 2 paragraphs.

However, I think catching has proven to be one of the few bright spots we've had so far this season. Chirinos has well exceeded my expectations.

Joe showed emotion...It was an emotional response to being booed and jeered. It was also pretty short and reserved. You are trying to make this bigger than the act.

Hamilton did lie and was called out for it after by anyone who spoke about the situation. He was being petty. I don't care what his backwards country ass feels about anything, he was wrong in his statement. What he said wasn't insulting. It just wasn't true. If he wants to take pot shots at people for booing him fine, but you better bring the facts while you do so. I mean damn, being a Cowboys fan I take endless shit and just roll my eyes at the people throwing it out there, but if you bring false statements to the table I am gonna rip your ass hard.

JD is to blame for trading for Fielder when Prince showed that something was wrong by his decline last season. It has also been reported that scouts were saying last year that Fielder's bat speed had decreased. You don't commit that much money to someone at his age and weight that has started to show signs of decline. Whether that decline was due to the same injury he had this year or if it was due to his age/weight JD was wrong in trading for him. Owing that much money to Fielder for that long could be devastating for this franchise. Knowing how Fielder played last year compared to previous years it much too big of a risk to take.

He better do even better because I don't see much choice in the catcher market. I may be missing something here so plz enlighten.

I don't think he's a permanent solution, but a nice bridge to Alfaro. Just don't know if we can make him the number one catcher based one year of data.
