Eat more BEEF !!!!!!
Just curious to see if anyone on here has a report. We are seeing a lot of Bobs and Blues. Hearing Quail call in almost every pasture.
Just curious where you're located.
I live in Amarillo. Grew up in Gruver.
Hunted in Canadian, Tx this Saturday. Moved 12 coveys and killed 32 between the three of us. It's thick cover this year.
Very nice. How big were the coveys ? Did you have dogs ?
Most were about 15. 3 or so 20 bird coveys. Of course we had dogs. I wouldn't even bother going without em.
Ok just asking, I forgot you are the guy with the GSP's
We've seen a decent amount around San Angelo this year... just difficult to hunt because of how thick it is
Moved 13 coveys and shot 45 between the three of us today in the Texas panhandle.
Damn, what's the limit down there? That would be way over the limit (8 birds/hunter) in Kansas...and after the dove hunters exceeding limits this fall they are definitely checking up here, especially with pheasants I've been informed.
We are seeing some nice coveys on the ranch. During Mule deer season I was over in our canyon country and saw several 25 bird coveys of Blue's. We will start hunting them after the close of deer season.
It's 15 in texas, and 10 in oklahoma. Shot my limit in Oklahoma yesterday.
I thought it was 8 in Oklahoma too. But I don't really know as it's been a while back since I have hunted quail in Oklahoma back in the early 80's over by Tulsa. Average covey up here is only about 12-15 birds, though one year my brother and I got up a covey that may have been two or three merged together because there had to be over 40 birds got up. With the drought ongoing the coveys are still on the low side from what I hear, 10-12 birds at most.
