Nos might be right about Bill Russell but that was before my time. I don't think Russell would be as relevant in today's game where talent pools are spread out and players are more athletic.

The problem with Nash's great offensive talent is that he makes players who can't create their own shot better. That is actually a bit of a trap because it makes the offense reliant on Nash and somewhat predictable. There was a couple playoff series where Nash would go up against a good defensive team and have to reset his pick and rolls 2 or 3 times and then run under the hoop and around to the other side.

Nash did make players better. Amare and Marion had offensive metrics that they really shouldn't have had. So what he brings to the table offensively matters in cases where the other players bring something defensively and can shoot perimeter shots and run.

But players being able to create their own shot kinda matters. Ball movement after the first pass really matters. Nash isn't an offensive panacea. The Suns pick and roll game did change the NBA but it wasn't enough to create great teams with.

Meanwhile on the defensive end, having Nash means you will 100% be giving up open 3pt shots to someone and you need to have defensive players to prevent your team from getting gutted from the inside out, too.

Don't see how making players better who can't create is a bad thing, that's the PG job and he was one of the best at doing so and the reason why he deserve his 2 MVPs. Nash went under the basket all the time and not just against good defensive teams, since he can get their so easy and very smart with the ball, he gets enough attention from other defenders to make plays for the assist.

No the Suns wasn't great compared to teams of all time but they was a top 2-3 team for a few years. They best chance was in 2007 but Stoudemire and Diaw got suspended for stepping over a line (winner of that series would be huge favorites to win the title with the Mavs being knock out and East being weak).

Not a lot of 3 point snipers at the PG position and Nash didn't play many in the playoffs. The most that Nash had problem with in the playoffs was guarding Parker but Parker couldn't guard Nash either, good thing the Spurs had Bruce Bowen.

Pretty sure my current NFL team was the most dominant team in any of these :suds:Clayton still thought he should have beat me though :suds:
I do remember trying but I knew I was going to lose that one.

Nash couldn't guard anyone

Kobe had his best series ever in the playoffs against the Suns, IIRC

Raja Bell was a great defender and the Nash Suns was 2-1 vs Kobe's Lakers in playoff series.

Yeah, the Suns beat Kobe's bad teams but lost to his team in the Conference Finals when Kobe had Pau. Bell was a good/great defender but that reinforces my point that Nash was terrible on defense

Nash plays PG and played defense on Direk Fisher. And the Suns wasn't as good and overachieve that year when they lost to the Lakers.

I guess we are going to agree to disagree on this one. I think we've both seen Nash play a lot of games and we both came to different conclusions

I am surprised 500 bribed Hammer to post about his team on the Poll Thread. I am not lying once Hammer posted that he liked Team H the best, I swear 500 got 4 votes instantly. Well done 500 you have 5 great starters, now Bench that's were you could be hurting.

Nobody plays more than 9 and I see nothing wrong with a bench of Parsons, Stephonson, horford and Lawson. Also your bellyaching has gotten u back in it ;)

I keep forgetting that the OBX doesn't have internet connection. I have drafted during my sons kidney surgery, drafted on anniversary during dinner, and mostly drafted at night because it helps me sleep waiting and waiting and waiting for you to draft.
