Dealing Wiggins' potential for Love's game right now is right move for Cavs - CBSSports.com

So who here thinks the cavs should trade wiggins for love? I would take a serious look at it if you have lebron what are you going to do with wiggins play him as a 6'8'' 2 guard or have him come off the bench? I think the cavs would get more use out of him by trading for love that would give them another all star and I would say that big 3 would be better than what he had in miami i couldnt imagine a team in the east that could beat them. Right now the cavs look pretty good but outside of lebron and irving there isnt anyone in that roster in my opinion that screams out championship in my mind. I know the GM already came out and said they werent trading wiggins but what does everyone think?

Straight up? Yes, take love.

I don't think that's the deal on the table, though.

No. Worst case scenario, Wiggins is a raw Luol Deng. Wiggins has the ideal mentor in Lebron and two offensive players in Miller and Irving. The Cavs actually get to develop a great prospect in an environment that is productive.

Trade Triston Thompson and/or Dion Waiters. They shouldn't need Love.

Yes, without question.

With Lebron's wishy-washyness, they should be in win now mode.

Nobody wants to see him opt-out and have to go thru the indecision again next Summer.

i don't know why but I just don't buy love as an elite player. I think he is the modern antawn Jamison. someone has to score for teams that don't have much. u join a good team and the player just isn't the same player

With lebron on a two year deal I wouldnt risk waiting for wiggins to develop I would look to trade wiggins for another all star

but would lebron wait around for these guys to develop? he is only on a two year contract and I think he can opt out after the 1st year

Cavs should be set for the next decade with Irving and Wiggins unless Wiggins busts and the East is still much easier than the West. 2 years from now, Lebron might not even be the best player in the league and he'll have to leave his home town playoff team again. I don't think he'll do that.

I wouldn't wiggins can be the next Paul George type soon. Already impactfull on defense. If they trade wiggins who's gonna play defense?

There is a good chance Lebron will leave Cleveland in next few years. Hence, get Love now. Get R Done

People here keep assuming that these are deals that are attractive to Minny.......they're not.

Wiggins, Thompson, Waiters, and Bennet MIGHT get it done. Salaries DO have to match......and Minny is going to want more than two role players and a rookie.

So far none of the proposed trades have even been CLOSE to the realm of reality....which is why they were all rejected.

At this point, unless there is a major change, I think Love gets traded to GS.

Love is 25 and is already a top player. Lebron is about to 30 and in his prime, this is the time. Can't wait 2-3 years to see if he works out, bc what if he doesn't.

You already know what Love brings and 20 and 10 guy every night.

Minnesota has zero leverage. Love is walking at the end of the year

How?

He is one of the best rebounders in the NBA. He shoots well and at a very good percentage. Jamison was a streak shooter and unorthodox. This guy can flat out shoot, you put Lebron and Kyrie next to him and he is even more dangerous.

Truth is you will never get fair value for a star that wants to leave

If they get Wiggins, they will be happy. They want a player to build around. You throw in Bennett and a couple 1st rounders and that should be enough, maybe TT. But they won't have to give up Waiters.

I don't think you get it, no deal and they get nothing for Love. Wiggins is enough, they won't get greedy with no leverage.

That much could be true, but with him likely to leave as a FA, as they get closer to the season starting these deals will start to look a lot better.

LOL no it's not enough. Not even vaguely. This is where the homerism needs to stop.

NOBODY is giving up an All star without getting quality in return. A rookie, a few low draft picks and a first round bust is not even CLOSE to value. Get real.

This is why he won't get traded to Cleveland. NONE of you are living in reality.

I think YOU are the one that doesn't get it. The deal GS is offering is LIGHT YEARS better than what you currently have on the table.

You also seem to forget that salaries have to match.
