?? Newton was a top 8 QB last season. I wouldn't label him as below average. But that's me.

for a fantasy starter, he should start, but i dont see him to be top 6 this season...

Canes, i applaud your write-ups... and am very impressed... But i very much disagree with you...

I dont like sam's team at all... He has insanely good WRs, but his QB is below fantasy average for a starter, his TE is weak, and his RBs are injury prone... Arian Foster and doug martin are both coming back from season ending injuries, and foster is old and potentially on a terrible team...

Thanks Milk............lol. I really believe the half a year off will rejuvinate Foster as he only touched the ball 150 or so times. If they aren't talking out of their asses over there and will really try to use him more as a receiver this year than in the last 2, watch out.

I would love to see you do the B league with this kind of detail if you're up for it. Might be hard not to be objective, but I've got faith in you.

Bandit.. that was just purely awesome. Lefty, you've raised yourself a fine young man.

And I totally agree with your assessment of my team. . Overall pretty strong, glaring weakness at RB2 and have health issues in that same area. Because of that I'd predict I make the playoffs worth an early exit, same as you figured.

Bandit,

Nice work on the write-ups.

Just want to point something put about the Seahawks D, because this is literally the ONLY format I would ever do this in:

Seahawks D scored 258 points last season, which is 80 more than the 12 best unit and over 100 more than the bottom 12. Since you can't make any in season pick ups, you are stuck if you get a dud DST. An elite defense that is matchup proof has far more value in this league. When you consider that 7 of the top 12 DSTs last season went undrafted last year and the 32nd ranked DST (Texans) was owned, you can see why a strong defense might have some additional importance here.

IMO, the Seahawks D was my BEST pick of the draft, but it would be a terrible pick in most formats to take them this early.

Still boggles my mind how the Texans finished 32nd.. so much talent up front and adequate though nothing special in the sinatra. . They should have been something much much better. .. and I'm probably making the same mistake in most leagues this year as all that talent is still there, plus the #1 pick. Lord help us!

I understand the philosophy behind it 100%. Honestly I had the hardest time coming up with a bad pick in your draft so I went that route. You drafted too well, throw a writer a bone next time. Picking the top defense is just something that I never do. I never own the best tight end and I never own the best defense and as we all know, personal biases play in so much with how the "experts" give advise. With that being said though, defenses seem to be very volatile from year to year. The 49ers and Seahawks have bucked that trend lately, but before that, the defense projected to finish at the top each year seldom did finish there.

Awesome stuff Canes! Even if you don't like my team. Yes, Peyton can cure ills of others, and my RB situation is way too risky. But let me be the first to say you will be highly surprised by Floyd and although I agree that I reached for Kearse, I think he is the playmaker (less Harvin), who will have single coverage all year.

Floyd: 1400 yards, 8 TD
Kearse: 850 yards, 10 TD

mark 'em down!

;)
