Last team to have 4-20 game winners.....and they did reliever, or two.......Grant Jackson comes to mind.

And this team played such solid defense - especially up the middle with Belanger/Grich & Blair in center - they were a team of teams no doubt.

Got to see them play several times....loved em.

Grich was a kid middle infielder just coming up. Davey Johnson was the combo with Belanger on those great early 70 teams. Far and away my favorite team in the early 70's. Boog was awesome in 1970.

Those 4 man rotations helped greatly during those times.
Oakland threw a solid group at you to back then

Did you see Boog interviewed last night on the Ranger telecast? He owns the BBQ joint out in RF there on the street...

Yes....pretty funny guy.
Loved the part where he had a guy hand him a BBQ sandwich under the fence in right field back in his playing days. Like the boys said last night, late 60's and 70's, Boog was a big big man. Today, not so much

Yeah, I should have included Johnson for sure.

And let's not forget the great Brooks at 3rd.

Yeh, he's looking a bit old...but he was the biggest guy on the field in his day.

the team was special.
Buford, Blair, F. Robinson. Merv Rettenmurd in the outfield
Elrod Hendricks and Andy Etchebarren doing the catching.
Johnny Oates had a call up on the 1970 team and played in a handful of games.
That was a great team 1969, 1970, and 71

Nick Williams just a hit a pretty oppo bomb in his first AB. The game is on 221 Direct TV.

no kidding....between his playing days and his BBQ, he's a legend in that town

Yeah I agree.....And I think that's special for a city and a team to come together as one like this. The O's have a very nice tradition, and one they should be proud of for sure.

He did look good for his age, and he's gotten his weight under better control it seemed. I was afraid he would be one of those guys that would gain 10+ pounds a year after his playing days.

My have to turn this game off and tune into that one, would probably be more exciting

Sadly, I think you are right. He and Alfaro are a good reason to tune in as much as possible.

Players on this team, role or not are not doing very well. i.e. Elvis Rios Choo Martin BP etc so where do you go from here? Since this season is gone, make any adjustment to the line up that might get a win. # 2 3 are not doing anything so why would a change not be in order? What is your opinion?

Sure, I was just being general and not talking about Rangers specifically. At this point I almost feel like the rest of the season is an experiment and if you can find a new role for someone that they seem more comfortable with. I would be all for it.
