The Washington Redskins
The son of the GOAT has found another home.
Jerry Rice Jr. has signed with the Washington Redskins. Initial news of the deal comes from Rice Jr. himself, who posted a picture of his contract on Instagram.
The Redskins later confirmed the wide receiver's signing. In a corresponding move, Washington released cornerback Blake Sailors.
"Just blessed," Rice wrote on Instagram. "This is an amazing day and I'm excited to get back to work to help the Redskins get back to the promised land."
Rice went undrafted after a college career that included stops at UCLA and UNLV. Rice participated in tryouts with the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers this spring but was not offered a contract by either team.
You can safely consider Rice a long shot to make the Redskins' final 53-man roster. Of course, better to be a long shot than to have no shot at all.
