Where would that 2005 Sugar bowl winning team have ended up without Pat White running the offense? In the UL game where he came in due to injury he showed leadership. WVU was down 24-7 when Pat White entered the game, scored 17 unanswered points to tie, and won in triple OT, hardly raw, the team fell in behind him and he led and was the face of WVU football for the next three and a half years.
:wtf2:

Pretty sure the Sugar Bowl was the Steve Slaton show.Pat White was 11 for 14 for 120 yards..not exactly lighting it up...and I've seen numuerous games where the back up has come into a game a rallied a team....

and again...pretty sure Steve Slaton set TD records in that UL Triple OT game with 6...Pat White was 5 for 11 for 49 yards passing...11 carries for 79 yards to be exact...

So if that are the games you want to piont to...STEVE SLATON was the leader of that offense!.

REALLY? White was one of the best option QBs ever, the reason Slaton was able to get those yards and TDs was White selling the pitch. If Slaton was the man in the UL game, why did he not do squat in that game prior to White coming in? Without White, there would not have been a Sugar bowl that year.

Loss for DAD here. PW became a leader and was one of the best option QBs ever. Make no mistake that Slaton was the leader of the 2007 team. Without Slaton, there may not have even been a bowl that year.

Without White in the UL game, there damn sure wouldn't have been a Sugar bowl. Without White's masterful option talents, Slaten would not have been nearly as productive. Look at the scores, offensive production, and Slaton's numbers pre and post UL game that year. Slaton had ONE TD before the UL game, the team averaged 24 points with Bednarick as QB and was 5-1, WVU averaged 39 points a game and was 6-0 with Whaite at QB, loss for you kool aid drinkers. White handing him the ball after selling that he was keeping is what made Slaton.

You crack me up DAD...now you blur the lines...so it takes a great leader to be able to hand the ball off properly to Steve Slaton??....gotcha...:lame:

And you conveniently leave out that Jason Gwaltney and Pernell Williams were getting all the touches until Gwaltney went down in the Maryland game...so based on your conveluted math..you say the team got a whole lot better when White spelled Bednarik...I say that team doesn't do what it did until Slaton got his shot......period!....

Then explain Slaton's lack of production in games in 2006 and 2007 when White was hurt. 2007, 13-9 White hurt, Slaton 18 yds 0 TD, 2007 USF White hurt Slaton 55 yds 0 TD, 2006 Rutgers White Hurt Slaton 112 yds 2 TDs, Whites ability to hold the pitch made Slaton a dangerous back. Slaton was not near the back behind other QBs. And Gwaltney and Williams were FAR from getting all the touches. Against 'Cuse they combined for 45 of 172 yds, 72 of 345 against Wofford, 100 of 324 against UMD, so no, they were NOT getting all the touches. White made Slaton, and Schmitt's blocking made it a hell of a lot easier for BOTH White and Slaton.

DAD… you are too funny.

Explain Slaton's production in any other performance which was under par in 2007.

Steve Slaton

RU
UofL
UConn

This should be good…

Slaton10 was trying to say that Steve Slaton was the team leader in 2005, and that he was just as good with any QB, I call BS, Pat White's mastery of holding the ball before deciding to pitch or not, letting the defense swarm to him before pitching it to Slaton made Slaton's running a lot easier, and if you are trying to claim Slaton was the leader of the offense in 2007 BB, MAJOR loss by you. Pointing out subpar performances by Slaton proves he was the man, HOW?

Because your question was stupid, the discussion Slaton10 and I were having was about whether Pat White was the leader of the offense in 2005, and you interjected, as usual with something irrelevant, Pat White was clearly the leader of the offense in 2007.

If you say so…

You claim that Slaton's poor performances were due to White's injuries in 2007, so… why won't you explain to everyone why Slaton had lackluster performances in other games that season?

We're still waiting…

Of course we won't get a response…. just like you won't respond to why WVU was left with such a small senior class last year and this year.

:L

I don't think I said that at all...I made the comment that you felt strongly that White was the leader in 2005...based off of how much time he played and what is stats where I disagreed...and if stats were your measuing stick then by that benchmark and what he did on the field Steve Slaton was the clear leader!...but at the end of the day neither player was the LEADER of the offense...

In my opinion the "true" LEADER on that offense was Dan Mozes....who BTW won the Remington Trophy in 2006.....

DAD defines leadership for us by pointing out results from the '05 season, and contributes this success to RS Fr Pat White. He cites the come from behind win over UofL… and the UGA game…

Both games… Pat White… WVU's clear leader according to DAD… was good at doing what Slaton mentioned…

And…. DAD… it was a hand-off… not a pitch…

I'd hate for you to look stupid after all….

I will have to look for more leaders… now that I know what it takes to be a good one. Win games… hand-off to the right guy…. and watch him make defenders look like they're moving in slow motion…

Got it….
