Frasor, normally good. It appears the BP woes are contagious. Major pitching issues with this team. How fast the tides can turn. I remember a couple years ago when everyone was clamoring on about how the pitching for the Rangers was so great and on the rise. Injuries will derail that quick, however there are some guys that aren't hurt that just aren't getting it done in this strange season
Topped off by the death of Richard Durrett. Strange season indeed.

The season is so strange that I wouldn't be surprised if Oakland won the World Series.....

Got up to check the score and was shocked about when I read that Durrett passed away at 38 suddenly. That is really sad news. You will be missed Richard.

Mother and Grandmother have both had aneurysms, mom's was caught early (after a minor stroke), but grandmother died from hers (bc it was ruptured), while at the hospital her doctor/surgeon said due to those factors me and my sister are 4x more likely than the average population to have issues with them due to genetic tendencies.... With today's news, I should probably get myself checked out

Learning moment for all, an aneurysm is simply the abnormality of the blood vessel in the brain, thats not what kills people, its when the abnormality ruptures thats the killer, not saying no one knows that, but its definitely a common misconception when speaking to people

So point is we could ALL have an aneurysm right now and never even know it til it ruptures, so if you have any family history its a good thing to get checked out

He'd announce he would be at certain Buffalo Wild Wings during Ranger Games when he had these chats, Will. I met him twice. Still shaking my head over this. Puts things in perspective.

This is horrible, I can't stop thinking about those young kids. I can't stop think about him talking about his young kids.
And what he wrote after the Shannon Stone dying...I can't post it now, it's upsetting.

He deserves his own thread, I'll do it later.

Really sorry about your Grandmother. My Mother died from the same thing on Thanksgiving Day. Tough. Please get checked out.

Win or lose this afternoon, it is very discouraging how Yu pitches against the A's. Hard for me to fathom not pitching Yu whenever we match against one of our own division foes.

It maybe just this year but I would like to see how Perez and Holland would pitch against them. Perez shut them out our first series there.

This from DMN:

“It hasn’t been a good year for me,” Ross said.

The Rangers sent Ross to Triple-A Round Rock, where he will be used as a starter. The Rangers still envision Ross as a starter, general manager Jon Daniels said, but want him to start to get more innings and more chances to fix his problems.

Little surprised to see him working as a starter.

This maybe the root of the problem. Stop envisioning JD. Get a starter.

Well if they keep yanking him around this year, they won't have to worry his arm may fall off. A little different scenario but I keep thinking about the Yankees and what they did with Joba Chamberlain and how that may have affected his success.

Darvish owns a 7.59 ERA in four career starts at the Coliseum in Oakland.

This is what I was concerned about yesterday before the start. If the Rangers at some point (in a different season) need a playoff/division clinching win against the A's, do you throw Darvish against them with his poor track record.

I think his only chance on this club going forward is in the rotation. They need to keep him in the minors until he figures out how to be a starter. If he doesn't then cut him loose.

At this point, in a different season and once totally healthy, I'd through Perez. I don't think Darvish has a clue IMO.
