the way I see it, there will be 10-15 QBs kept, 5-8 TEs kept,30-35 RBs kept, 30-35 WRs kept

4 keepers, 18 teams, I don't think 30 WRs get kept. I could be wring, but I am guessing 20-25. Once you factor in the rookies, there should be at least 10-15 quality WRs available in the draft.

Besides, you know some keeper drafters are going to take Sammy Watkins ahead of Harvin and Crabtree.

Keep in mind though, there is a downside to this move. Trading 2 for 1 where your 2 are keepers for the other guy waters down the quality of the draft pool. When picking late in the first round, a deal like this could reduce the odds that you get the WR you want in round 1.

Great point here that I think gets lost on a lot of people. Why not toss your 'unwanted' guys in the pool and see if they fall back to you? That's what I'm doing in my league, and I've had multiple owners inquire about trades for my guys.

Crabtree
My gut says he has a monster year. I like him. My gut also loves White Castle sliders. I love them.

This was probably no help.

Love this one Joe!

As for responding to TKO - I agree with most here, Cam is locked in as a keeper. I'm also not high on Cam being a top 5 QB this year, but even a down year should keep him in the top 12.
In a 18-team league, keeping Gio, Vereen, and Stacy would give you 3 RBs that I would consider to be top 30 guys, where most teams will be struggling to find decent RB2/3 type guys in the draft. Huge advantage there. Since you have the 13th pick, I seriously doubt you will be able to get 2 of your current WRs back, but between Crab/Allen/Harvin, one of them should be there for ya.
While I don't quite agree with Wil that Stacy is just a placeholder on the Rams roster (they did trade up to get him, and I assume it will be couple of seasons before they draft another RB now that they added Mason), I still agree that the WRs will be much easier to replace. It'd be different if we were talking about surefire WR1 guys, but it seems more like a solid collection of high end WR1/2s.

At pick 13, I'd target Allen then Harvin then Crabtree. The pts per rushing attempt push Harvin over Crab for me, and Allen is by far the best receiving target for Rivers, who seems to have bounced back nicely from a down season in '12-'13.

So it's a question of whether Stacy is better than one of the WRs. Allen probably has the highest upside, Harvin is the most likely to win you games on his own if he plays (the Michael Vick of WRs), Crabtree is the best candidate for moderate improvement. Close call all around.

This is where I am too (Cam, Gio, Vereen). I'll have to watch Stacy in August and see what he's bringing. It will be hard to keep him and draft Mason, so I'm not sure how I feel about that. I'm currently leaning with Crabtree, as he might be the best bet over the next handful of seasons, taking Rivers' age and Harvin's bumps/tweaks into account.

Thanks guys... keep me on my toes.

Cam, Gio, Vareen, well. .. any of those WR's would be decent keepers, except maybe Decker in Gang Green. My personal choice would be Keenen Allen, but only slightly over Harvin because of the injury concerns.

As far as Cam, not only does the league size basically mandate him being kept, but honestly, the big reason many are down is because he had no receivers right? Well let's be real for a minute, he only had one NFL starting caliber WR since he's been in the league, and that one has been declining for some time. . So it's not like he finished as the #4 QB those first two years with Rice and Moss to throw to anyways. He'll be just fine.

i know you dont want tot talk about trades yet... But you have so many nice pieces that wont get kept... Not sure what you can get, but if you can improve your keepers, do you really care if you help another team get better??

But as of now, even though i hate cam this season, i understand why he is a must keep... and then i can see why the other 3 would be Gio,Stacy and vereen...

But Tate is an interesting value, and so are Allen,Harvin and crabtree...

There was talk of it, but it was shot down as a majority. The league isn't all that and I would prefer a better keeper league with better rules, i.e. keep by the round, or like monkey's draft.

with no trades- that sucks- you have to do cam and the 3 RBs... But i woukd hate throwing those players back in the pool...

OKAY!!!! BIG NEWS!!!

Our league has dropped to 16 teams. A few big names back in the pool. This might cause me to throw Cam back.

Thrown back (who matter) were Foles, Romo, Cutler and Dalton. MJD, TRich. Cruz, Garcon, Floyd, Patterson.

QB Available: Romo, Foles, Cutler, Roethlisberger, Dalton, Palmer, Geno, and Locker... with a few more bums.

Would you keep Allen, Percy or Crabby over Cam now? 16 team league doesn't seem as drastic.

Actually, I'm definitely throwing Cam back. He was the 6th QB last year...but had 111 carries for 585 and 6 TD which I think all are dropping this year (and moving forward).

Allen - great rookie year, but long term will have a QB change when Rivers retires.

Harvin - well documented injury history, but superb talent with a young QB.

Crabtree - growing with Kap, but ....

Maybe I shouldn't be thinking too long term with only 4 keepers.

That's what I was thinking when you said 'QB change when Rivers retires'

When will that be?
He's turning 33 this DEC, so that only leaves you with what, the top WR for a strong armed QB for the next 3-4 seasons?

I'd keep Allen over Cam, but that's cause I think he'll be a steady-eddy for multiple seasons, posting similar stats to his rookie year. He didn't really see the field/targets until a few weeks into the year, that's why I don't project a let down like some others do, regardless if Floyd is healthy in the preseason.

I don't trust Harvin at all. I'd throw him back. But I think I'm lower on him than most.

I'd think about keeping Tate because of position scarcity. A couple of teams will be stuck with really terrible RBs in starting spots, and when bye weeks start it'll get even worse.

The 60th WR is startable; the 60th RB is not.
