Not a fan of the Trade Down

After listening to Grudens press conference he states that he liked Murphys pass rushing skills b/c of his sack total last year. Well if that was the case why wouldn't you just stay at 34 and take Van Noy? Van Noy could of played ILB and it a lot better player and pass rusher by far. Even after the trade down Attachou was avaible. How he is not a better pass rusher than Murphy? I just don't get it. I will say that Murphy does have the work ethic and high motor which must of beat overall talent when we made the selection. But as far as overall talent there is no way Murphy is better than Van Noy and Attachou.

As far as the trade down for the extra 3rd round pick. Yes this kid Long looks like a good player but he was taken way too high. There is no doubt that he could of been had in the 4th or 5th rounds b/c of his injury history. Plus with the trade you gave the Cowboys are division rival the pass rusher that they coveted in Lawerance. Who also is a better overall talent than Murphy.

All I can say about today is there are two outstanding CB's left in McGill from Utah and Watkins from Florida. Both had visits with the Redskins. If one of those guys is not taken with our 4th round pick . Something is definitely wrong.

You made some good points but moveing on I say wr,rb te, dl cb s, are in play the rest of are draft plus udfa as well this draft reminds me of joe gibbs who the fuck is that guy drafts .

We sit here and watch games...listen to analysts....watch youtube highlight videos...and find guys we want and dont want...While the team researches, watches game film, meets and interviews the players...there must have been something they liked more with Murphy than the guys you mentioned.

It definitely was a WTF moment. But the draft is for long term talent acquisition. If you look at it that way, given Rak is not a sure thing past this year, I can rationalize the pick.

Like I said I have no problem with drafting a 3-4 OLB but I believe and MANY believe Van Noy and Attachou were better players.

He doesn't have the speed the other two have. Van Noy could of played ILB for us. Attachou has a way bigger upside. Murphy is going to need time to develop. The good thing going for him is his work ethic. But he is not the better player at this time over the other two.

THe only real pick I don't understand is the Spencer Long pick. I dont like drafting injured players. I hate hearing the words "if they were healthy....then". It reminds me Greg Oden and Steve Emtman. Maybe Long would have been an All-American if healthy or maybe he would have taken a step back. I don't like the hypotheticals. We knew what we had with Gabe Jackson and other Guards but we are now guessing with Long and hoping he heals. It might be a lingering injury and he never bounces back, we don't know. The draft is such a crap shoot, so I don't understand making a pick without as much information as possible.

only reason i agree with u is van noy can play ilb, im not sure who is the better football player though.
and id obviously want yankey over grant. i would have went with a project with size like coleman or janis. or if not size then id rather have abbrederis.
