Are you happy with day 2 of the NFL draft? A lot of you were crying earlier but let me ask you this:

Would you have been happy with Morgan Moses at 34, Trent Murphy and Cyril Richardson (yes we didn't draft him because we thought somebody else was better and most of the NFL seems to agree) in the third? Most of you would have been creaming yourselves saying OMG...I can't believe Moses fell to 34...what a steal. And hey, we traded down in and got Murphy who led NCAA in sacks and Richardson at one point was considered a first round prospect. Holy shit...this is so great.

But now:

Man...I can't believe how dumb we were after an epic trade down. We wasted our second round pick on Murphy and I still can't believe Moses is there...big time steal...but I can't get over Spencer Long...he sucks garbage.

No idea. I really know nothing about Murphy or Long. My only question was could either of these guys still been available in lower rounds?

I will say this. Its clear that Gruden's idea of linemen is different that Shanahan's. These are big, mean, maulers. Seems like he wants to get back to power football. For you guys that have been screaming about addressing the trenches, yesterday must have been a wet dream for you. You can't complain now.

This draft should of been Attachou, Moses, and Gabe Jackson. Hopefully the guys we drafted pan out. But we reached with Murphy and Long. There is no doubt about it. If Murphy could play inside that would be huge.

I was trying to explain that to Gkekoa. He supports the FO in whatever they do and sees no wrong in it.

I hope the Long over Jackson decision doesn't bite us. I just don't understand the logic of drafting an injured player this high in the draft. IF he was an elite player and had a fluke injury, then got for it, but we need these players to contribute immediately and we took and injured player?

You have to understand Dean, alot of posters think we are actually a good team and that the 3-13 record is not a true indication of the team.

I'm not defending the pick, but long was an elite player before his injury. He was an all American the year before and was a consensus top guard pick before his injury, expected to go in the 2nd. So if the redskins graded him on his performance before his injury, he graded out higher than Jackson. His injury was to his mcl, not his ACL. Full recovery is common and expected.

How in the world do some of you guys know that this guy or that guy would have been available later? What do you base that on? Your own opinion? Hmm - so how long have some of you been NFL scouts? Thought so.

Do you base it on these so called experts who are talking heads on TV? Whatever. Go back and check their track record. They have wrong many, many times.

The reality is that availability is based on the opinions of scouts, coaches and FO personnel and honestly none of us really know what each team is thinking. All of this is complete conjecture on the part of some of you. Again - I will refrain from grading these picks for at least 2-3 years when we all have had a chance to see these guys perform.

From the presser it sounds like they are making decisions based on depth & future needs.

Not for players to come in and make an immediate impact.

if you ask me about the draft as a hole i think so far we have done ok

murphy can be an 8-10 sacks guy and he has some length . add to it he is smart

moses could be our bookend RT starting in 15

long was a preseason all american until he got hurt and it appears he will be ready by TC or sooner

breeland gives us a good CB with some height and ball skills . could be a # 3 cb some day

it looks like they addressed needs . and it gives gettis , compton and ribeye one last shot at producing
