say what you want about kinsler guys lol. he's a douche, but he was my fav player on this team and we're definitely missing him on all sides of the game. He was a smart player, a good base runner, a smooth (minus a couple years) fielder with good chemistry with EA, a passionate leader, and good hitter from time to time. He was aggravating with some of the sarcastic looks he gave the ump at the plate sometime and his back shoulder dip uppercut swing, but we miss him.

I've always liked Kinsler. I was sad the day he was traded, but it was the right move.

Something that was hammered into our heads was know the situation, and know where you're going with the ball if it comes to you BEFORE the pitch is ever thrown.
Very standard coaching. One of the first things learned

I was always a fan of the darwin barney/starlin castro combo. Very underrated. They were so so smooth with it that it looked like they were going slow... but id put their time up there with anyone in the mlb

I say was because I dont even know what Barney is doing right now atm lol

He was a douche, and he was a terrible leader. He said as much when he left that he didn't want to help the younger players. And the last year and half he was here he was an absolute disaster on the base paths. If memory serves, he got picked off more last year than anyone had in like 7 years. He got picked off 3rd base 3 times, for crying out loud.

Now, haven't said that, his range and arm were terrific. And you're right about his AB. Made me crazy at times, but at the end of each month he was standing pretty tall.

But if Profar hadn't gotten hurt, maybe we wouldn't be making this observation.

I guess I'm a little surprised to see Matt back out there...but maybe we have no choice given our BP is not rested...

Off to start the OKC/MEM game. I'll switch back to this one when I don't have to watch commercials. :yahoo:

I can't believe we sent Harry back out there the way he's struggled and he's thrown almost 90 pitches.

Sorry, but it makes no sense to me.

Way to put us in a hole there wash. Why would you send him back out there? He was obviously on E.

I thought Kins was the best leader we had last year. I'm all for guys having fun on the field, but he took the game and winning very seriously and when he struggled he showed passion. You never saw him laughing his way back to the dugout after a K. I think his leadership traits were very underrated. He went out there and showed the most passion on the team.

Made no sense whatsoever. He threw 9 more pitches and is damn lucky to have one out. Now, you've brought in a reliever with 2 runners in scoring position.

Also, Kinsler was a very aggresive base runner, but hearing from scouts.. he was the best on the team at stealing signs, and taught EA how to pick them as well. Now EA is phenomenal at it. There's a lot of intangibles when it comes to running bases that go unnoticed. Kins would undoubtedly be better on the bases then what we've shown this year lol
