This offseason I am intending on doing an ongoing poll rankings of all the expected starting QBs. Our previous poll had Drew Brees (13)beating out Wilson (8) and Big Ben (3).

I know as the fourth poll, this seems long. You don't need to be in it for the long haul, just vote when you can. The offseason is long and I will space it out. There will come a time where it doesn't matter so I will group, but we'll go as far as we can.

Question: Who is the fifth best QB in the league?

Here are the parameters:

This is just for this coming year. Age can matter as far as current abilities and experience, etc., but don't choose a young QB over Peyton Manning because so and so is younger and can offer more years. Just base it upon who they are now. If younger means better, sure. Otherwise, it's irrelevant.

Assume that each QB is in the optimal system with an equal level of talent around them and coaching. If the current QB of a team does not fit in their current system or on a bad team, imagine them in the right system and average team.

I value postseason wins, so last time, I added QBs who've gone to the Super Bowl or their respective conference championships onto the poll. I don't expect any non-SB winner to win this poll (i.e. Mark Sanchez, Alex Smith), just trying to add players who have gone that far. This time, I removed Sanchez because he's not starting. Next poll, there won't be as much systematic adding, I'll take a respectable "expert" ranking and use those.

So, please vote.

Reminder: This poll is for who currently is the fifth best QB. This is not a career accomplishment poll or all-time or potential poll. Thus, vote for Big Ben if you think he's the sixth best QB, not because he has two rings. Is he sixth most likely to lead your average surrounding cast to a SB? Similarly, don't vote on pure potential, unless you believe that potential or significant proportion of that potential will be realized this year. Try to be objective. :)

So far the list is:

1. Aaron Rodgers
2. Peyton Manning
3. Tom Brady
4. Drew Brees
5. This Poll.

In the poll, the parenthesis is the number of SBs or the year they went to their respective conference championship game.

I combined Romo and Stafford because they didn't have recent postseason success. Yes, that is a team issue, not just QB. I just didn't want to remove anyone who made it to NFCC/AFCC or later until next poll or so.

So far, we have:

Peyton Manning - 6 MVP trophies, 3 SB appearances
Tom Brady - 4 MVP trophies, 5 SB appearances
Aaron Rodgers - 2 MVP trophies, 1 SB
Drew Brees - 1 MVP trophy, 1 SB

Eli Manning has two MVP trophies for his 2 Super Bowl wins. Big Ben has been to 3 Super Bowls, and zero MVP trophies. Joe Flacco has 1 MVP trophy for his Super Bowl win. Matt Ryan has zero Super Bowl wins and zero MVP trophies, but I believe the Falcons will be extremely healthy this year, and the addition of Steven Jackson, will make Ryan's job even easier. I am going with Ryan, because I think he has the potential to make it to the Super Bowl, and has too many weapons at his side.

I can only speak for myself . I am picking for who I think would be the best this season. IMO RW will not have a good season and other QBs are better. No ...I won't be picking Kap unless this goes beyond the top ten. Got it, Homer?

We'll see how RW season goes, looking thru my rose colored glasses, I think it will be pretty good. Don't see any reason why he shouldn't have a good season again, perhaps you can enlighten me.

No solid reason ..just a hunch. Not a good way to analize a QB ,I know. Yes....we will see! :suds:

Honestly I'd take Foles over Ben next season. And it wouldn't be a tough choice.

I like Nick and I'm excited to see him in this offense for a full year, but I'm not a one year wonder kinda guy, Im not rolling the dice just yet...

But it's Nick Foles in Kelly's offense. He hasn't ever really used traditional QB's, but he has shown at both levels the ability to fully adapt to all of his QB's (and skill position) strengths and avoid their weaknesses. Foles isn't a 'scheme guy'.

I think all of us were surprised at how well he emerged last year, but if I was you I wouldn't trade Ben for Nick if Ben came for less money (not possible). Just wouldn't.

I picked Ryan as well. I think he's going to have a monster season, when you consider all the weapons he has, and the addition of Steven Jackson.

I hear you, but for a moment I want you to think about this, money isn't an issue in this case, and the OP has put it already on the table, (this is the last season of the NFL) now you also said above Kelly's offense can adjust to about any style of QB, so wouldn't you go with a guy that has been there done that???

Don't get me wrong I'm looking forward to my boy Nick playing against your Hawks on the 8th of Dec, and I also believe the Eagles take the division again this season, but I doing a poll where there is no tomorrow, this is it and it's all in for one season...
