And yet:

The Silver and Black lead the series 11-9, including an 8-5 record as the home team. The Raiders currently hold a 6-3 record against the Steelers in Oakland and held a 2-2 record while calling Los Angeles home from 1982 to 1994.

The Raiders have not lost a game to the Steelers at the Coliseum since 1995 and have a 4-4 record since the turn of the century. Since the Steelers’ quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in 2004, the Raiders have a 3-2 record including 2-0 in Oakland. The Steelers and Head Coach Mike Tomlin have only been able to top the Raiders one time since they won Super Bowl XL.

Well, I guess when you're a Raiders fan you have look at things that way.

The fact is you guys are known for picking up aging players, over paying them, wasting draft picks, etc.

You were once a proud franchise. What the hell happened?!!?

Risk of injury. When you're a battering ram the hits take their toll. He got clocked really hard in a few games he was lucky to get up from. I like Bell because he's a hard-nosed runner but I doubt he will be healthy enough to play all 16 games most seasons because of that style of play.

Apologies. I'm saying Bell will be the starter but he wont get as many carries. They brought in someone else to take some of those carries, but Bell will still be the starter.

In a nutshell I think Al's huge ego got the best of him, I have been a fan since, well, probably 8 years old, so 1969 and I have seen many milestones of the Raiders. Al Davis was a maverick and an innovator of the game that we know now, but he micro-managed and thought he could be everything the Raiders ever needed while almost every other franchise was assembling power teams to handle the myriad technical issues required to be successful. The Marcus Allen fiasco and the Shanahan feud were the 1st indications that something was terribly wrong in Oakland and that was mid '80s, and aside from the Gruden/Gannon years it has been an unmitigated disaster. If you take a look at some of my posts here you will see that I am not looking at this thing through rose-colored glasses, but I am going to stand up for my team whenever and wherever I can, nothing personal, I think I really do like you as a fellow 'Hoop member.

I do remain hopeful that our long run of mediocrity is coming to a close, the small victories are all we have had to cheer about for far too long.

Al Davis hung on WAY to long - not that I'm certain you would have been any better with his son. Still. It was like the game changed and he didn't want to change with it.

I remember the 70's and the days when our franchises would beat the snot out of each other in a REAL football game.
