Graham was their number one receiver, statistically. He's most certainly more of a weapon than anyone but colston. If he could be effectively defended with most corners, teams would put a corner on him.

I really think we see a decrease in Graham's numbers next year. Teams are finally catching on how to game plan for him. I'm thinking jimmy wants to get paid before the stats start to dwindle. I think the saints know this too.

You got to wonder if that was because the Saints WRs where covered by corners and Graham wasn't.

So it's because no one in the league knows how to gameplay?

He would eat up most corners because of how much bigger than them he is. There are a few exceptions with the size to matchup, but most guys simply can't beat him to a ball, even in perfect position.

He would eat up most corners? Hard to say since teams don't ask their corners to cover a TE.

He doesn't play tight end.

He has 6+ inches on most corners. They can't defend that.

He does play TE. That is why good defenses play a LB low and a safety high on him. Just like any other out stand receiving TE. WRs are covered by CBs.

Who the defense thinks is the best suited to match up against you has no impact on your position.

He's defended like a TE , because he is a TE. How can you argue that?

So he was a WR when he played New England?

He's covered by linebackers because they're the only players most teams have that can match up in size on him. Most corners would get Mossed on all day.

Same as any other good receiving TE. They tend to be big guys.

He can't block and he takes 2/3 of his snaps in the slot. What makes him a tight end, beyond that that is where he is currently listed?

All the actual receiving tight ends actually line up at tight end, a substantial majority of the time. Most block at least some, too.

One last time JDM, he's defended like a TE because that is what he is, if he was a WR, he would get defended like one, but he isn't, so they don't. Is that so hard to understand?

He lines up at WR and runs routes like a WR. Teams are forced into matchups by his size.

You haven't answered my question yet. Was he a WR against New England?

Didn't see the game against NE. As far as match because of his size. Your making my point, he's built like a TE. Davis on the the 49ers does the same. Good receiving TEs do that. What teams do is put a LB on a TE, but if he's really good, they have the the safety play him long.
He's a TE and every NFL team plays like one. He is a good TE, but he's not a WR.

Talib matched up on him the entire game. By your requirements, that made him a WR.

Who matches up on you isn't your position. Where you line up and what you do are your position. He plays WR 2/3 of the time.

No that just means that your LB couldn't keep up and your safety sucks.

He's defended like a TE because he lines up off tackle. The defense has to commit at some point, when he gets to the LOS they have to assign someone to him. Then when they do that he goes in motion to exploit what is usually a LB. Smoke and mirrors to exploit LBs is not something that WRs do, if so Calvin Johnson would line up off tackle.

That was a top 5 corner. Hardly something you can say would happen every week with regular matchups against corners.

If you are talking about talib, he is not a top 5 corner. Really not even close. You cant use PFF for Revis vs Sherman (although i agree with PFF) and then call talib a top 5 corner.

Aside from that, does any one know if the CBA says lines up or takes the snap, because those are two different things.

No that just means that your LB couldn't keep up and your safety sucks.

So now who lines up on you isn't your position.

Which is correct, but it equally means being covered by a linebacker isn't his position.
