Patriots won't be in Cap Hell. They've had some dead money, but next year they'll be clear and anything on the books will active players. Their cap problem this year is that they have to eat $7.5M that they're not paying to Aaron Hernandez and the NFL will not allow them to clear. This is nothing more than Roger Goodell's dislike of Belichick. He tends to forget that it was Bob Kraft who got him his job.

I'm not 100% sure if I'd call what's happening 'panic', but after the beat down the Broncos took in the Super Bowl, it would appear that Belichick knows that if he has to face Seattle in the Super Bowl next year, he does not want to be as embarassed as Denver. He also wants to be sure that the Patriots can do better than they did in the AFCCG this year.

Denver on the hand is going "All In". Talk about Cap Hell..........................

Just more uneducated BS, how bout you take a look at the contracts and get back to me.

I second that... Hell Elway was on the NFL Network talking about how their not even close to mortgaging the future of the franchise. He understands he's a got a window that is getting a little smaller but he's not gonna bury this team....

Neither team is going to be in any kind of cap trouble. Almost all of the spending by both teams is relatively short term, and there is barely any dead money involved after the next 2-3 years.

Like that Sandwrs signing. Who the hell will be the WR's for Pittsburgh? :noidea: Cotchery? Lol

Good question...for #2. Wouldn't lol @ Cotchery though...has the perfect role, 3rd down possession guy that makes the clutch catch...Ben likes this guy a lot.

Many in the PIT camp think Wheaton will be a better player than Sanders...I'm not in that camp...yet, but clearly Sanders as the #2 put too many under 6' WR on the field, plus he was always hurt with the exception of LY...go figure.

Antonio Brown... Ever heard of him?

PIT drafted Marcus Wheaton in the 3rd round last year to fill Sanders' shoes. Trust me, Sanders is nothing special. Cotchery is a FA at the moment and the talks have been quiet about resigning him. I expect Cotchery to be back, and probably a newcomer from the draft.

Your rebuttal beat mine...it's called not knowing the team that well I think.

Panthers win 6th straight, top Pats as game ends with flag picked up

Cam Newton threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Ted Ginn Jr. with 59 seconds left, and Carolina held off New England 24-20 on Monday night when officials picked up a flag in the end zone.

After Newton drove the Panthers 83 yards on 13 plays for the go-ahead touchdown, the Patriots had a chance at an improbable comeback when Brady moved New England to the Carolina 18 with 3 seconds left and fired into the end zone as time expired.

That's what I read. Good player, just not worth the $10m he was asking at the time
