Too low, Jay Cutler's base is $22mil... He should ask for more than that...
I agree. 25 mil a year sounds right for Kaep.

Yes ,some posters who would love the 9ers to spend top dollar on Kap have to understand it will be heading their way soon....have fun!You realize in saying that if Kaep would actually sign for this much that just increases the price for Wilson right? I mean Wilson has more starts, wins, better statistics, and of course a Super Bowl ring. So as funny as it would be to see Kaep get that kind of contract I think as a Seattle fan if that happens you should start crying now because that either means you sign Wilson and lose possibly Thomas or Sherman or lose Wilson and sign Sherman and Thomas.
Also, I say screw anyone that thinks Romo, Cutler, Stafford et al are worth anywhere near what they make. Not a chance.
If one team will pay Revis 16MM, then the market for Revis is 16MM. If one team will pay anybody anything, then THAT's the market.
I hope we get Wilson for 18MM. He surely won't get paid any less than that.

That is all very possible regarding RW's upcoming contract. Yet, the Seahawks play to a different drummer. Our whole team does. Our FO has been laughed at almost every year after the draft. What does Pete and JS say? Pfffftttt! They draft for themselves and not for the NFL.
We launched Houshyomamma with $8M guaranteed for the last year he was here. Put a 330LB washed up DT and moved him to DE-a 330 lb DE! Signed Flynn for millions only to promote the rookie 3rd rounder instead. Rap music at practice and lots of it. A rah rah coach that virtually everyone said was an NFL failure and his schtick will not work with adult players.
RW is not money driven. Investigate if you don't believe me.
RW's endorsements will make him millions as he is a very good spokesman.
He is the anti-Kaep.
I'm not saying he will give the team a financial break. I am saying those that predict RW demanding all of the gold may be quite mistaken and shocked at the same time.

No offense man, but that's typical homer talk. We as fans like to act like we know what the star player is thinking behind the scenes. In reality, we have no idea. Every year, after a team wins the SB all the fans start talking about keeping the team together and "hometown discounts" and how a certain player is not money driven. I remember all of Baltimore talking about it with Joe Flaco. If RW has another solid year, he will be asking for 20mil+. It's the NFL and they ALL play for the money.
Especially if his desire to be an owner (even a partial one) is something he's actually going for.

No offense taken. I don't think I am expecting discounts from the many FA's we are expecting to have to deal with. I just think RW is a different kind of cat and is motivated by things other than what motivates a typical athlete.
He is different than many.

He is different but he also has lofty goals for his life beyond just winning Super Bowls. He wants to be an owner and he is not stupid in he knows that will take some major bucks. Yes I could see him giving them a fair deal but that still means somewhere around $20 million a season not this $15 million I keep seeing thrown around. I mean guys who haven't even won a playoff game are getting $18 million. You really think he would even with a discount take less than that?
