Of course you can. "Mental issues" is a bullshit excuse. It's a code for "I'm mentally weak and don't even have the balls to admit it." It's akin to someone calling their addiction or the fact that they're a fat piece of lard a disease.

Hard, hard pole to touch...you just don't know...the player for KC that took himself out right in front of the coaches...was he mentally weak?

In a number of cases you're right, people will use whatever as an excuse for their actions, but mental issues is not something you can put a finger on and say they're faking it or using it as an excuse.

Those are actual, legitimate, definable illnesses, and I would still blame the individual for being worthless scum.

Martin is making pathetic excuses for being a pathetic and weak human being.

Interesting thought you have on this...I actually think mentally Martin was the stronger of the two. I'm gathering that he's probably never been called a lot of the stuff that Incognito was spewing, but he tried to go along with it to be a part of the team or whatever, and he couldn't do it.

Now...if he'd come to blows with Incognito over this...in other words manned up, would think more of him?

So women verbally abused by their husband are not bullied? Or physically abused for that matter?

No. That isn't what bullying is. They're being abused, sure, but you can't redefine bullying to include shit that isn't all that similar.

So then what is your definition of bullying because I have no clue what you think it is.

Not surprisingly, when asked to define his stance, he refuses.

But wait, we were told by the 'experts' on this thread that this report was the end of it all and nothing more was going to happen because this is a bullshit case. :laugh3:

JDM, you don't know what bullying is? Maybe you can get some pointers from this:
Opinion: What you don't get about NFL bullying - CNN.com

a classic case of bullying, where persons who are in a position of power harass the less powerful
The key is anyone in a position of power can harass/bully someone of lessor power. In an NFL locker room that is veterans and loud dominate individuals picking on rookies and quieter types.

Richie didn't just bully this one player. If you read the reports he bullied many and ran more than one off the team.

I'm not sure what you call bullying, but the definition does not state it requires people too young to vote. If it isn't possible for an adult to bully another, I'd very much like to hear your EXACT definition of what bullying actually is.

One thing that has been brought up is why didn't Martin go to Philbin about the situation. If the OLine coach was involved, could he have just attributed it to the entire coaching staff (fair or not) and didn't feel he could go to another coach because of that?

we were talking about players being convicted of a crime. a coach being made a scape goat doesn't mean much really. Assistant coaches are a dime a dozen

No, YOU were talking about a crime when others said there wasn't one and didn't need to be one for people to lose their jobs. Pretty sure I told you at least half a dozen times that no criminal case has to exist to have more action and here we are. Still wouldn't be surprised to see more than this whether it's fines or others being removed from the team.

You can keep back peddling (wouldn't expect any less), but it won't change the facts. Not everything people do that is wrong is a crime and you don't have to be arrested to lose your job or face fines from your team. Sorry, but those are facts.

Obviously, you do.

You noticed the hypocrisy of his statement did you? :laugh3:

Funny how defensive and angry they get when caught in their own words.

He likes to point out when people call him names too. Wonder how calling someone a loser isn't calling them a name. :L

Well, it's a time honored strategy, argue a point no one is making in the hopes that everyone just accepts your point as fact. I would think that there are hundreds of thousands of people (if not millions) that will be relieved that they can have their jobs back because they were wrongfully terminated for having been fired for something less than a criminal offense.

You've spent 2 weeks and 25 posts on this subject, then claim to not care about it and then claim someone else is obsessive?

A meaningless assistant being fired is the definition of nothing happening.

If power is required kids can't be bullied. That's a meaningless definition. Yes, age is and should be important. Bullying is attacking someone's social development, generally in an effort to enhance your own status (/self worth. Most bullies are broken, too.) An adult needs to be already developed and it takes a pathetic excuse for a human being to think they are being bullied as a grown man.

JDM, let me ask you a what if question.

If Incognito had been released at the start of the 2013 season, do you think there would of been a locker room issue on the Dolphins?
Then turn it a round and ask if Martin had been traded at the start of the 2013 season (maybe to the 49ers?), would there have been locker room issues on the Dolphins? Like some rookie punching out Incognito?

The answer is Incognito was the problem.
