so their failure to control it is proof they condoned it? Interesting opinion. I guess I read things a lot differently than you did. I saw several people say they liked Richie, but said he was unstable and prone to going off and crossing the line. I also read where he ******ed a female employee at a team function and had to pay her off to keep himself out of trouble for it. There were other incidents laid out that are not common in locker rooms around the league.

Martin doesn't have the mental strength to play in the NFL. I wouldn't take him if I was part of a team, but Incognito is an unpredictable asshole that is prone to legal problems and attacking his own teammates to the point where he has been thrown off several teams now. Adding him to your team wouldn't be advisable because of it. He should end up in the CFL.

Nothing of incognito's past has any bearing whatsoever on his interactions with Martin. Nothing he said or did to Martin was a legitimate reason to go crying to the press.

When it comes to workplace issues, of which I am sure the league is well aware of, ignoring inappropriate behavior can expose the company to litigation, hence implying that behavior was condoned. Almost every large company has harassment awareness workshops and sech.

As I said in a different thread on this, both of them were wrong. Martin had other options than basically running off (although as someone who was bullied at school I can see why he did) and telling the press, and Incognito was a douche of the highest order (but everyone knew that anyway). I would be okay with Martin staying with the team, but obviously there will be questions about his mental toughness (maybe this has helped him in that regard?). Richie should be cut, ASAP, and if anyone else signs him then they're an idiot.

Problem is Martin couldn't see those other options, or he didn't think they would work, because of his mental issues. So I don't think you can fault him here.

Of course you can. "Mental issues" is a bullshit excuse. It's a code for "I'm mentally weak and don't even have the balls to admit it." It's akin to someone calling their addiction or the fact that they're a fat piece of lard a disease.

We will have to agree to disagree. His past, or more aptly his other actions while a member of that team show his overall state of mind and give credibility to the rest of the things he was accused of. It paints a broader image that allows people to more easily accept that this wasn't just normal hazing or the types of taunting that may exist in other locker rooms. This was abnormally high and unusual by NFL standards and that seems clear as day.

As for Martin going to the press, I don't see them mutually exclusive. He didn't go to his HC or through team channels to deal with his issues and that was wrong. Abandoning the team and going to the press were lame and are reason enough I'd never want him on my team. It does not, however excuse or otherwise diminish the outrageous behavior of Incognito. You'd take him on your team tomorrow and I guess I really hope he does so NE drops a few more steps with his distractions and stupidity. I wouldn't take him on mine.

no you cant its a flag to google and results in all kinds of crappy sanctions against the site

Very odd. You can say a lot of things far more vulgar and offensive than the few words I know trip the filter here. Why those words and not the plethora of others is amusing.

Incognito is an asshole. I have stated this. It just doesn't matter. The world is full of assholes. An asshole can be managed and put in his place.

A mentally broken pussy who doesn't even have enough of a shred of loyalty to his team to keep private shit private? That's much much worse.

And I agreed with you about Martin. The only thing we don't agree on is the degree of Incognito's instability and how it has followed him everywhere he has been, even in college, and how that should red flag him from any team in the NFL.

You are obviously insensitive towards people who struggle with mental issues. You do not understand the severity of them, and what they can do to your mind. That's plain to see here.

And Martin did not run to the media. Where are you guys getting that from? :noidea: He checked himself into a hospital for psychological help. He didn't go to the media. The media came to them.

There are real mental issues. There are no real mental issues that just magically turn you into a pussy. If he was schizophrenic or had an actual mental illness, it would be relevant. Using "mental issues" as a justification for not having the balls to be a man is not.

He was treated for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Depression. So how about you go look those things up and see how they mess with your head before you open your mouth again? Stop being so insensitive and see the situation for what it is.

Depression is a copout. PTSD from being in the NFL is a joke.

It wasn't from being in the NFL. :L Let me explain this I guess so everyone will have a better understanding of this kind of situation. A person who has constantly been bullied all throughout their life like Martin has end up with these mental illnesses. When you can't make friends and everyone says things like,"Worthless piece of shit. You should just kill yourself. etc. etc." it gets to you. Just imagine being a kid and not being able to make friends, and basically the entire school says these kinds of things to you.

Eventually, you start to believe its true. That's when depression hits and makes you feel even worse. To the point of suicidal thoughts. And it triggers PTSD. You relive all the horrible things that happened to you in your head. Martin was not just bullied normally. All throughout his life, he dealt with extreme bullying that made him this way. He didn't want to tell anyone because when dealing with these kinds of things, you feel like telling people will do nothing, and could cause even worse situations.

This is not something to be insensitive about. This is a growing problem in our society and needs to be dealt with. And you know why people bully others? Its because they're insecure about themselves, and probably deal with a lot of bad situations too. They feel like bullying others will make them feel better. I wouldn't doubt Incognito having mental issues as well. So hopefully this will help people understand the situation better if they didn't before. And if not, oh well. There is nothing more I can do or say.

There really isn't anything more to discuss here. We all see the situation. Opinions differ. This will just turn into a flame war if we continue. All we can do now is wait for the conclusion. And then we'll revisit it. Until then:

No matter the outcome of the report or where they might play again ,I will say that Martin will sue the NFL and the Dolphins and probably win....or at the least gets a settlement.

It is not possible to suffer from PTSD without being in war or being involved in something equally disturbing, such as a violent murder or r*pe, etc. Being bullied (as a grown adult, which is not fucking possible) does not give you PTSD. It's not possible. There is not trauma, and that's literally required by the name.

Martin is in the bottom tier of human beings. He is weak, he is pathetic, and if he wants to make himself a "victim" he will continue to be one.

Don't even know why I'm bothering to respond, but oh well. There is for sure trauma involved when it comes to extreme bullying. You just don't understand the situation. So I'm done here. There's no point in continuing to debate in endless circles that will never accomplish anything. I'll just await the conclusion.

It is clear that your opinion brings no value to the human race. I pity you.
