My view is simple; the 9er was standing 12 FEET off the field, which according to the rules is the legal place to stand on the sideline. So this is a CLEAN play.

Lane had just started the play when he was shoved out of bounds, and he went more than double the area out of bounds than is legally given to a player, this is marked by the white line, this area is 6 feet wide and is known as the boundary line. No person, coach or player, can stand in the boundary line during a play, the next 6 feet is the coaches area and for players getting ready to enter on the next play, beyond that is the team area where everyone can stand. Lane went more than 12 feet out (yellow line) of bounds before he attempted to get back in, he then ran another 12 YARDS down the field before reentering the field of play on his ass.

Everything that happened on that play is legal, this is not dirty, and if Lane wants to bitch about then maybe he should have taken the inside route instead, or been more under control and not allowed himself to be that far out of bounds. This play has nothing to do with the Steelers play, or Jets play as both are clearly different than this play. In fact if you want to see what Lane should have done go back and look at the Jets play that caused the coach to be suspended for the year.

There are two ways to look at this play.
The first, the Seattle point of view. It was a cheap dirty, nasty, unnecessary play.
Second, the 49er point of view, it was way out of bounds, alls legal and correct by the rules.

Then there is a third points of view from the rest of us.........C'mon man..!!!! You won the Super Bowland you're cryin' over a play that had little if any consequence on the outcome of the season.
Jeeezuzzzz get a friggin' life and find something of value to do with it.

Because you guys posted it on your board whining about it, and then in that thread they said bring it to the main board and see what they think. Seattle fans wanted a huge fine, suspension, and a loss of draft picks for that. It didn't happen and you guys are mad about it.

Please go grab a quote from that thread and share with us who was whining. I saw someone post an informational thread about what the results were and the next guy says you should put this on the general board and see what others who aren't for either team think about it. That's whining to you?

I think you and cdulmer both want to make this more than it was. There was no whining. They asked a question and wanted to get the opinions of others and what opinions did they get? Well most of the people who aren't for either team think it was a dirty hit.

Again, if you want to compare notes I'll log out of my account and grab any random thread from the SF board and show you what whining is. I've read my share of that board and it is simply full of crying and whining. Seattle's board? Not so much. Your board boots anyone they disagree with. Ours? Not so much. We welcome anyone with an opposing view as long as they aren't blatantly trolling. Why is your base known as the fourty whiners? Because you have more than that many on your boards that do nothing but whine. I don't think most of them post on the general and I don't claim all of your fans are like that.

I know the truth hurts, but if you want to keep going down this road I'd be more than happy to show you what we are talking about. I'm pretty sure you have read enough of your own board to know you really don't want to get into a quote war from both of our sites.

Said by anyone who frequents a message board...lol I was killing time between meetings just like most people who check this thread are.

It's a topic that can lead some discussion. Which it has.

Seattle fans keep posting videos, news articles, and such about anybody who doesn't think their team is the best thing since sliced bread...hmmm yeah none of you are whining. People are going to disagree and this whole one play that is in question isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things but you seem to think it was a big enough deal to bring to the general board. Pretty sure also Seattle fans on that thread from what I could read were upset that San Fran didn't get some kind of penalty/fine/suspension. The NFL deemed it a non-issue yet it won't go away. Usually when something won't go away it because somebody just can't stop whining about it even when it has been resolved.

Right, so instead of actually posting an actual quote of someone 'whining' about it, you switch to the more general Seattle always whines so it must be true here ploy. :laugh3:

The truth is no one talked about it at all on the Seattle board over the last two weeks until the results came out and all that came up after it was on post asking what others thought. Sorry, but that's not whining.

As for fans being overzealous about other issues, doesn't ever base have those? Not sure that is actually whining. Maybe some are defensive, no doubt. Some might be obnoxious for sure. But not everything you don't like is actually whining.

Well by your definition then nothing is whining I guess. As for examples...your first post on here was about the whole warning they received and thinking it was the NFL's way of saying "you did something wrong but we don't want to penalize you." Even though that is a load of crap as they did not violate any NFL rules with what happened on that play.

Then another Seattle fan complained about people saying it is a natural reaction to lower ones shoulder which is very much true. Not everybody does it but scientifically they have proven that people have a natural reaction towards one of three ways: Flight, Fight, or shut down. This cannot be helped it is just in a person's genes in how to react in certain situations.

Throw in Seattle fans are wanting a rule change because of this one play even though the NFL has been doing punt returns this way forever and rarely have something like this happen. Most players don't run 10-15 yards out of bounds and keep running among the players. Most try to get back in. Is that good enough for you then?

Again this all boils down to a person's definition of whining...To me when asking for a rule change because of one play that went against your team that is whining...your definition is you are a passionate fan. Just different definitions of the same thing.

So because I said either they shouldn't have given a warning or there was indeed something wrong I was whining? Really? Some of you take this shit way too fucking seriously. I mean THAT is whining? :laugh3:

If so then pretty much every post up here is dripping in whine. Or, more likely, my original assessment that you and at least one SF fan have your own preconceived notions and are trying to bend the reality to meet them. Either way, feel free to keep whining about others whining if it pleases you.

Well obviously there is no talking to you on this issue so going to call it a day on this topic. I could care less if you are whining or not or however you want to define what you are doing. Anyway I have stated my view on it and that is good enough. Good luck with trying to get that rule change.

lol. I love how you try and say it's whining when someone says giving a warning is proof something was there, but failed to include the rest of it where I said I really didn't care and wasn't losing sleep over it. Look at post 5 again and tell me that's whining. You are quitting because you are wrong and know it. :becky:

I said it was whining considering you thought the NFL by giving the warning was saying there was something there but didn't really want to punish San Fran. That is called a conspiracy.

And I am not quitting this argument because I am wrong I am quitting it because one stupid play that the NFL and almost everybody has deemed to be irrelevant doesn't deserve anymore of my energy.

And yet here you still are. I'd say you have really taken up this event. I mean I did say more than once I didn't think it was a big deal and thought it was over and yet here you are trying to make it into something more and then saying we are whining about it. Love the irony there. :laugh3:
