My view is simple; the 9er was standing 12 FEET off the field, which according to the rules is the legal place to stand on the sideline. So this is a CLEAN play.
Lane had just started the play when he was shoved out of bounds, and he went more than double the area out of bounds than is legally given to a player, this is marked by the white line, this area is 6 feet wide and is known as the boundary line. No person, coach or player, can stand in the boundary line during a play, the next 6 feet is the coaches area and for players getting ready to enter on the next play, beyond that is the team area where everyone can stand. Lane went more than 12 feet out (yellow line) of bounds before he attempted to get back in, he then ran another 12 YARDS down the field before reentering the field of play on his ass.
Everything that happened on that play is legal, this is not dirty, and if Lane wants to bitch about then maybe he should have taken the inside route instead, or been more under control and not allowed himself to be that far out of bounds. This play has nothing to do with the Steelers play, or Jets play as both are clearly different than this play. In fact if you want to see what Lane should have done go back and look at the Jets play that caused the coach to be suspended for the year.
