Yes and no....
As I recall...Seattle was VERY active last year in getting guys...Defensive guys at that

And there are just as many unsuccessful teams who dont partake of free agency and try to build strictly through the draft. We have neither the first round draft pick, or the owner and fan base to sit through another two or three years of being bad while we try and avoid bringing in big name free agents. Our real problem with free agency has been spending big money on aging players past their prime. Thats what we need to not do.
Hall is not worth half of what Talib will get. You would really pay Hall 4-5 mil a season. lol What!! There are already rumors that we are going to pursue him. I already posted a link to jy19 to prove it. I know Shields is younger but he is not the player Talib is and he will command big money b/c of his age. 7-8 million is not top dollar for a CB. Revis gets 16. We desperately need a #1 CB and Talib is it.

We aren't the ones that matter. The question is does Snyder have the patience. If his history is any indication, that answer has to be No.
i think those days are over
Maybe im just being a homer here, but are we so sure we cant get back to the playoffs next year if we play our cards right?
If we bring back hall, rak, and riley, then sign say byrd, an OLman, an ILB, and draft say Benjamin, an OLman, and a DLman thats a lot of additions. Maybe they arent all great but they could easily be improvements. Maybe haslett lets it rip on d and theyre actually decent. If RG3 returns to form theres no reason that couldnt win the division.
The team from 2 yeaars ago had plenty of holes too but they managed to pull it off and i dont see the eagles cowboys and giants as good enough to guarantee a division title or playoff spot.
it will be fools gold . we need to take the time to make this team a winner year in and year out and stop thinking about short cuts

I agree with your approach. However - why would it have to be fools gold? The changes that he recommended don't sound like the type of thing that are strictly geared towards next season. I don't have high hopes just yet, but that doesn't mean that the team can't be decent enough & yes actually win what most consider to be a bad division. It doesn't have to be all or nothing. Nobody is advocating signing the next Haynesworth or making a McNabb like trade.
Now if any of these moves come with a ridiculous price tag then I am with you 100%.
you know i shouldnt have typed my response to the original post
i read it quickly and didnt give the proper response
i saw signing byrd and that stuck with me
what i should have said is we need to avoid expensive name players and focus on economical good players
the moves he advocates are a nice good first step but let remember a lot of FA's we will sign may not work out for a variety of reasons.
i think that the fools gold comes from the expectation that in one year this gets turned around . i dont believe it will because we also need good depth and i am not sure you can get quality back-ups and starters (6 at least ) in one year
i am starting to believe our playoff appearance of 2 years ago was fools gold
my apologies to ebb 5 for not slowing down and comprehending his post better before responding![]()
