Apologies but keep in mind the passing rules have changed between when Fran left and Russell started. Those passing numbers should be a LOT higher in today's NFL.

Definitely have to keep that in mind. But you also have to keep in mind that today's athletes in the NFL are vastly superior to those that Fran T had to go against.

More of your bullshit Angel. He was telling you pretty plainly that those numbers should be higher on a team that focuses on the passing, but we do not. We play more like the teams from the 70's because we feature the run first so obviously Wilson isn't going to have as many passing yards as pass first teams. Get it?

Ah, Seahawks logic.

A QB that's #16 in the league is the equal of a man that was one of the best of his time.

I swear to god that unless someone is drinking the green Kool aid and blowing half your team you think they're wrong.

Tell me..do you accept ANY criticism of your team?

At all?

Russell is dead MIDDLE of the league, simple as that. If you're going to compare him to Fran, his numbers have to be higher.

And you have to keep in mind that back in Fran's day, clothes lining the QB was legal.

Again...we're comparing the MEN, not the TEAMS.

The rules have changed dramatically. If you're going to compare two men that are that far apart you have to acknowledge the rules have changed and thus adjust your sights to fit.

His numbers should be higher given today's rules.

NFL Stats: by Player Category

Russell is currently ranked 16th in the league.

Get it now?

I get what you're saying. It's just stupid.

Why should he do anything but what wins games?

If he put more yards but turned the ball over more and lost games because of that, the comparison would be closer? Because yards are king?

So why not just roll out Otto Graham? Or Slingin' Sammy Baugh?

You guys will do anything to make Russell sound better than he is.

He's dead middle of the league - PERIOD.

No way around it.

You guys are so deluded and drunk on the green Kool aid you think Russell is equal to Fran.

Well hell, let's just fit him for a bronze bust in Canton already then.

Fucking Seahawk fans....

Nobody is saying that Wilson is better than a HOFer, drama queen.

We all know that Wilson is in his second year. But you can comparisons between players at any time, you dont have to wait until their careers are over. Unless of course, you are comparing entire careers.

Tarkenton - Born in Richmond, Va.
Wilson - Raised in Richmond, Va.

Tarkenton - at 6 ft 0, was deemed too short to be an elite NFL quarterback. He was selected in the third round of the 1961 draft.

Wilson - at 5-11, was deemed too short to be an elite NFL quarterback. He was selected in the third round of the 2012 draft.

“(In the draft) that’s what they look for,” Tarkenton said. “Big arm, big this, big that. That’s why they miss on so many. That’s not what it’s about. It’s about your ‘it’ factor. That’s what Russell Wilson has.”

Comparing men across eras is always stupid and for just this reason. The rules have changed to much for the comparison to be real.

In Fran's day blows to the head of the QB were allowed. Are they today? In Fran's day we didn't have the Mel Blount rule.

See what I'm saying?

You can't compare the two men, they played to far apart and under completly different rules.

If you're going to do so you have to adjust the numbers.

Now...if you want to compare WINS.....then do so. Compare Fran's wins his first couple with Russell's.

First of all, this was about comparing Wilson to Tarkenton, not where he is compared to the rest of the league.

Second, I've told you lots of critical things about my team, but you DON'T FUCKING LISTEN AT ALL. I've plainly said I don't like Sherman's comments, I hate our offensive line, the offense commits too many unforced errors, and said I am leaning toward Denver winning because of those last two things. BUT YOU CAN'T FUCKING READ.

Now, keep on spewing garbage and ignoring simple points if you like. Shows a lot about you as a person and shows your lack of football knowledge.

To try and say a team that runs first and doesn't have 50 pass attempts a game should be evenly compared to those who are is idiotic. You can look at his completion percentages, but the rest of it can't compare. And you should know that.

Now tell us another story about how you aren't just on here spreading hate about the Seahawks. Once again your posts betray that.

Hey....MORON....

You're telling me all that matters is the win....

And then NOT comparing WIN TOTALS!!!

Idiot!!!

Fran was instrumental in his wins his day since the franchise was built around him. Russell is NOT. He's a game manager, and thus his numbers are in no way equal to Fran's.

Fran T on Wilson at end of 2012 season:

“I think he’s Rookie of the Year. I don’t think there’s any question about it. And I have great respect for what Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III did, but I think this kid has had the best year of any rookie quarterback out there. It’s been pretty amazing.”

“They call get the ‘It’ factor,” Tarkenton said. “There is an ‘It’ factor with Russell, and you see it right away.”

"You cannot coach that. You have it, or you don’t. And he has it.”

Tarkenton played in a different era and any comparisons are more like similarities in style and that is very subjective.

But when comparing QB's head to head, experience is a huge factor. Especially post season experience and Peyton has 23 post season games now, correct? And 3 Superbowls.

This can't be understated. It's a huge factor and big advantage for Manning over Wilson when comparing these 2 QB's head 2 head in the biggest game of the year.

Oh but they don't want to compare Manning to Wilson because Russell would lose that one. They'd rather compare him to a guy that played in the 60's so the numbers 'match'.

Give me the quote where I said those things. You either need to take that back, or back it up with quotes. I said nothing except telling you what he was saying. Didn't say I agreed with it even, but then you love to make assumptions and add your own views instead of actually reading what was said. The person you were responding to was saying You can compare the two because Seattle is a running team that plays a style more like the old school football and therefor it is more comparable than comparing even Wilson to other offenses of today.

Now, back your shit up or GET THE FUCK OUT.

Your stupidity is really getting bad.

Let me show you how far down the list Russell is....

You know that horrible, suck ass year Eli Manning had?

Yeah....HE finished ahead of Wilson.

So did Joe Flacco, who also had a horrible year.

If you finish middle of the pack, any comparisons to Fran are invalid.

Yes, experience is valuable. I'm sure everyone understands that. Anyone that has ever done anything at all in life understands that.

But did you know that over the past 8 years, the younger "less experienced" QB has won the SB 6 times?

Now dont try and make it seem like I'm pronouncing a win with that. I know you some of you guys freak out whenever anyone makes a point that may favor the Hawks. But since you brought it up, I'm just sayin.....

OMG, we're comparing PASSING STATS YOU FUCKING MORON!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is everyone in Seattle this retarded or is it just you?

I'll say it again....

YOU'RE COMPARING PASSING STATS!!

IDIOT!

How about we compare him to Peyton and see where he comes up.

No...you have to compare him to someone that played FIFTY YEARS AGO to have him measure up.
