OK. lets look at the stats. Obvious he doesn't throw for a lot of yards on a running team. However he's #7 for TDs thrown, #7 for passing %, # 2 for yards per pass, and tied for #3 for least interceptions among those who played all year.

Not bad for a QB in his second year, playing on a run first and second team. Not bad at all.

I never said he was bad - the kid is off to a great start but let's keep two things in mind:

1) He's just getting started and he's going to have to grow if he wants to stay this good. Defenses WILL adjust to him - they do so with every QB in the league.

2) Like you said he's on a running team. How will he perform if that run game is taken away? Will his numbers drop? There are QB's that don't have that run game and their numbers are much higher.

At this point he's a game manager - much like Big Ben was when he came in. Big Ben went 15-1 that first year, yes? Largely on the strength of his running game and defense. He made some plays here and there but he didn't have to carry the team. That's where Wilson is right now.

As Ben got older than changed. I woudn't call him elite (I think that word is thrown around a bit to much) but I would call him great. POSSIBLE HoFer. He's got some more work to do.

Comparing him to Fran is stupid since Fran was the strength of that team.

Wilson is NOT a game manager ffs. He does exactly what he is asked to do. When he has been called on to pass a lot he has done so and done well with it. However he exists on a team that runs and only asks him to do minimal passing. Why? Probably a combination of not wanting to put too much on him, but mostly they want a conservative play style meant to minimize turnovers. You know, OLD SCHOOL FOOTBALL.
