This is my 'worst case scenario' Rams draft. Which means it just might happen. I know people are high on Robinson right now for some reason but I get a huge Jason Smith vibe from him. Robinson has almost no experience in pass protection.I will start I guess...
2. St. Louis--Greg Robinson OT
13. St. Louis--HaHa Clinton-Dix S

If you're drafting a tackle and a S in the top 15, you want them to be really elite guys. I don't think either of these guys will sniff a pro bowl
Their secondary is what is holding back the defense and was the reason for the DC coaching change. The general gist is that most people assume that Cortland Innegan is going to get cut. Janoris Jenkins was godawful as a #1 CB last year. TJ McDonald is well liked by the team and is expected to plug in one of the safety spots for the long term but the other one is totally open.I mostly put him there to St. Louis as teams seem to be looking at the safety position a lot higher these days. I almost put one of the top corners going to them as I do think that could be a position they look at too.

A quick google search shows me that in the years Gregg Williams was a DC for Jeff Fisher in Tennessee they drafted:
Kenny Holmes (DE), Kevin Dyston (WR), Jevon Kearse (DE), Keith Bullock (LB) in Rd1
Joey Kent (WR), Samari Rolle (CB), John Thornton (DT) in Rd2
Denard Walker (CB/S), Dainon Sydney (CB), Zach Pillar (G), Erron Kinney (TE), Byron Firsch (DE) in Rd3
So thats 8 high picks on defense and 4 on offense.
If #2 overall isnt a trade down, its Clowney imo
I think there is at least a 75% chance they trade downYou think it would be Clowney even with all of the Pass rushers the Rams already have? Not saying he isn't worthy of the spot (not as high on Clowney as some but still think he deserves to go top 5) but just seems like it doesn't fill a huge need. Now given I respect teams that draft BPA instead of caring so much about position just think there are other guys at that spot that could help right away and be a full time starter.
Why is Clowney getting a free pass for all his antics? I don't get it. Taking plays off all the time. And a HUGE red flag is the lack of conditioning. Yes, he's a Julius Peppers, once in a lifetime kind of talent. I get it. But, all the red flags are plain to see. There is huge risk coming with whoever picks this guy. I'm glad the Dolphins don't have a high pick. I want them to stay miles away from him. Do you guys honestly want an elite talent that can't stay on the field every play, and even when on the field, is apt to not giving 100%? This guy is Albert Haynesworth. Just a different position.
If he's Albert Haynesworth then you definitely want to draft him. Hayneworth was a monster before his big pay day.
Clowney knew he'd be picked in the top 5 regardless, so he mailed it in this year. He partied a lot. He has no problem with conditioning. He was "sick" (hung over) for one game & he didn't work hard this year. That says nothing about his ability to get in shape. Clowney is a no-brainer. He's gonna party & be a dumbass like most NFL players, but if you're worried about his conditioning you're worried about nothing.
Anybody want to take a crack at the 1st round now that all the teams have finished?
I will start I guess...

As far as Clowney to the Rams is concerned, Chris Long is a hustle guy. He will always be applying pressure but Chris Long isn't explosive. There is a time limit that a QB can have and he'll always be able to get rid of the ball before Long arrives. If Long didn't have Quinn, he'd have bad numbers. Long currently doesn't have a good secondary so last year his numbers were fairly average. If backed up by an above average secondary and Quinn, Long would produce at an elite level.
Clowney is explosive.
Take a second to reread what you just said. That is bad. And yes, there are conditioning issues from the games I watched. I can't remember him consistently staying on the field in any game I saw. He came on and off the field as he pleased. He would just point at the sideline and run off. Subbing himself out. And you can see him on the sideline sweating and getting re-hydrated. Go back and look at the tape if you don't believe me. But I understand that the chance of 20 sack seasons are there. So somebody is going to take that risk. But it wouldn't be me.
With Loadholt and Kalil both young, and signed to contracts I can't see that happening.
If Mack is there at #8, I can see him being the pick. I would be shocked if they went offense, let alone OT.
Yeah Minnesota was a tough one in I know the OL is actually pretty decent. The biggest problem was I just had the 3 big defensive player names go off the board and wasn't sure there was another defensive player worthy of being that high. Throw in then the quarterbacks all being off the board as well it just left nothing of great value when it came to Minnesota. Again it was just hard to find anybody of value that fit the spot at this point. I could see Mosley climbing that high but MLB seems to not be a premium position anymore in the NFL. I could maybe see Justin Gilbert as many have him ranked as the top corner but I have watched some tape on him and the guy just doesn't impress me as much as others I guess. He easily gets turned around and struggles against athletic receivers.
8 is a tough slot to project right now, so is 15...I agree on Mosley, he could shoot up a few spots, especially if he runs a a fast time @ the combine. I sense he'll play a 3-4 ILB as he did @ Bama.
I'm thinking if Clowney has a great combine HOU might just take him...worst case STL will...if it's just average...HOU probably takes Bortles, and STL Matthews, which might drop Mack or Barr down to 8.
MIN or CLE (the Browns have the extra picks) will trade for Cousins and fall out of the QB early stakes in the draft. If that happens one of the top 4 QBs could drop into the 2nd round or late 1st.
The Vikings have to get the QB. That's what I'm looking at. If they can find a competent QB, they are a playoff contender. Question is, how much are they willing to give up to get their guy? Anybody know the market for Cousins? I don't think I'd give any higher than a couple 3rd rounders. And that's being generous. But they could probably get Cousins cheaper than if they tried to trade up for one of the QBs in the draft.
Vikings need to work on their defense. If they get a shot at a top 3 QB then they should go for it but Cassel is an upgrade over Ponder and Freeman could be rehabbed mentally. Their defense kinda fell apart though and key parts of their Dline is getting old
