True. This is why I want KC to dominate these last 3 games. To prove to the owner, coach, and organization one guy is not bigger than the team.
Like I have said guys, IM just not sold. Can he improve?? Sure. Do I expect it given the current state of the team?? Not really. We put all our chips on one guy and now we are likely going to ride with it no matter what. I think the whole thing has been mishandled from the initial trade, to the injury, to playing him early in the year. Now its all about recovering from those mistakes. And i really dont have faith in the organization or the player that this can be fixed. The organization is a mess, and the player just reminds me too much of a politician right now. He says the right things, but in the end Im not sold he will do what needs to be done.

You sound like the perfect audience for the media - you pretty much believe & buy into everything. Fact is nobody really knows what happens & it is very likely Shanahan is floating this story to get out of his last year. Hmmm - if he is such a great guy why didn't this story come out earlier? How convenient that it only comes out at a time when his team totally quit on him & he is looking for the easy way out.
The easy target is always Snyder so kudos to Mike S. for playing it in this manner. I have gone from being on the fence about him to totally wanting him to get lost since I question his integrity and honesty. I also would not count on him getting another head coaching job since it has been quite a while since he has had extended success with any team.
I totally realize that Snyder, Shanahan & RG3 are all to blame but you know who has to go. I also won't panic too much since - as bad as it may appear - things can be corrected over the next several years with the right moves (barring another petty move by the Giants sleazy owner). Time to move on & get past this bad episode.
What IF Snyder allows this to happen and they win out? I don't know what to think. Rumor is that Shanahan was never on board with signing RGIII (I'm sure you all know that) and wanted to draft Cousins in the 2nd or 3rd round. He could be trying to one up Snyder and prove he was right. I doubt it will happen but it would be really interesting if they finished 6-10.
Well According to his contract, Shannahan has final say on Roster, Draft Etc....So if Danny was pushing hard for RG Too damn bad...I am coach and GM and as such I decide the direction of this team...You dont like it dan...well fire me and pay me the 3 years salary you owe me.....That would have been the conversation im sure.....
Shannahan liked RG and traded what was needed to get him...
what about reports of Snyder's personal limo picking up and carting around RG3's wife, Snyder personal security detail being assigned to RG3, RG3's request that they not show his bad plays in film review (don't know if they gave in on that one or not). It's clear that he is in every way put above the other players, Snyder has a man-crush on RG3, and the team is getting tired of it, as can be heard in interviews...he's just a spoiled kid, who isn't earning his keep, and man-oh-man, if they bring in Briles....the 'skins are becoming the new raiders
Damn - it almost sounds like you are hoping that he fails. Cmon - this is only one season. Why does it have to be a given that it means that RG3 is doomed for the rest of his career? I would also be careful about jumping into the media's trap that this means that the Washington Redskins will fail for the next 5+ seasons. If you want to believe that great - I can understand people going that route. I choose to see this as a bad episode & a new one will start with the changing of the coaching staff which provides some hope no matter how slim.
HTTR
While I dont know that those reports are true, I can see where Dan would want to make his QB feel the love.....I can see why it would rub his teamates wrong....and I am not condoning those actions... However.......A franchise QB is always put above his team....You cant sit there and tell me that Eli doesnt have a higher standing with the Giants then the Others, Brady, peyton, Brees...all franchise Qbs that the owners all have man crushs on.....It isnt just in DC...Now our owner may have gone overboard, but it happens everywhere.......
and Briles wont be our new coach, but as a NY fan....I can see why you dream about it.....keep dreaming!!!
I'm not saying he would, but that's one name I'm hearing tossed around (living in the Hampton roads area, I cant help but have 'skins BS raping my earholes all the time)....all those QB's do have a higher standing sure, but they more often than not take responsibility, RG3, whether he intended to or not, in the way he has worded things seems to pass the buck quite a bit, which is irking the players too

While I agree some of the things he has said may sound like passing the buck.....Don't know that he was or wasn't......was just saying what went wrong..lets see...saying that he had no time to pass, may be passing the buck to the oline.....well he had no time to pass.....not necissarily passing the buck as stating fact......
He needs to learn to not speak so much from the heart, and learn the cliches that Brady and others use......hopefully he gets that this offseason too!!!
I agree. These arguments that Shanahan was forced to take RG3 or was forced to play him the first game of this year fall hollow. He is the HC and has complete control. If he lets himself bullied to do things he disagrees with means he is the problem. I don't believe Shanahan would ever be forced to do anything he didn't want to.
FTR, Shannahan wont be fired if he benches RGIII moments later, isn't Snyder looking for reasons to fire him for cause? meaning if he finds something they don't have to pay him nothing (I don't really think that benching a QB who has led you to a 3-9 record is a justifiable "cause")
Since Shannahan wants out, Snyder will probably keep him til year end out of spite, in hopes that the Texans job will be filled by then
The opportunity to fire him due to cause has come & gone.
I am probably in the minority, but I'm still holding out hope that the source for Mike Silver & Dan Graz story is NOT Mike ... and therefor can return to coach the Redskins in 2014.
However, the media has already decided Mike is the source ... so his fate in Washington appears to be sealed.
As far as starting Cousins goes ... Mike is still the head coach. Whoever he wants to sit or start is his perogative. Although Mike has said he will discuss it with Dan, the owner should in no way be involved in that decision.
I DONT think he is a franchise QB, I have serious doubts he will become a franchise QB. Never said the idea of doing what it took to get a franchise QB was a bad idea. I just honestly think we got the WRONG GUY.
Plain enough??
Oh yea, and the campbell trade was the worst waste of resources on a player... until now possibly.![]()
