Both Smith and Kap have fatal flaws. But Smith's are the "lesser" of two evils.

Thats why with a better roster Smith lost the NFC Championship game and Kaepernick won it the following year.

Kapernicks playoff performances from last year are making a fool of you.

Thanks for playing. Naptime?

He produces more? Kaepernick has more playoff wins than Alex Smith has. He has less than 20 starts to his name without one full season and Smith has been in the league 8 years.

But Smith "produces more"? Seriously, pull your head out of your ass.

There's a lot of QBs that I consider are producing more than Kaeptain 3-&-OUT.

As an unknown commodity.

As a known commodity under more pressure, he has proven to be mediocre at best.

I wouldn't say that Smith has more upside than Kaep. At this point no one knows, but only a fool would trade away a QB like Smith for an unproven douschbag like Kaep without having a better understanding of Kaeps abilities.
You even said Kaep has not yet played a full season yet. DouschbagHarbaughStyle screwed himself, his franchise, his coaching staff, and the SF fans in treating Smith so bad and running him out of town for 2 second rounders.
A massive blunder.

I don't think Alex Smith wanted to stay, and because he was all class after his benching, the Niners owed it to him to grant his wishes. Smith would have been second string had he stayed and he would have been extremely unhappy about it. My guess is that Alex asked to either be traded or released. I don't think it was really up to Harbaugh. I don't think Harbaugh would force someone to stay who didn't want to be there.

There is no S in "douche bag". You did it twice. Probably best to know how to spell the derogatory words you use to slam someone, because that isn't a typo.

We didn't trade away Smith for Kaepernick, they were both on our team dip shit. We traded away Alex because we needed the money to sign other players and kaepernick clearly proved he could do things Smith couldn't do last year. Personaly I have nothing against Smith, I think he is a good QB, but he isn't special and he never will be. Kaepernick last year in particular was definitely special, and has had his moments this year even with all his struggles.

You can act like Smith, who I am sure you spent a considerable amount of time pretending was garbage before kapernick arrived, was some great loss, but it wasn't. Before harbaugh got here he was nothing. Harbaugh created Alex Smith and knew his potential which is less than Kaepernicks.

Wilson has looked very pedestrian at times this year as has your entire offense, that doesn't mean he sucks does it?

Yikes, busted by the spelling Nazi again. It wasn't a typo. Obviously, spelling is not my strong point but I did know Kaep was DHS's 2nd round pick. I just didn't properly illustrate my thoughts, but I bet you knew my point.
None of your deflection hides the fact that Smith is having a better year than Kaep, your team would have more wins if Smith was still your QB, and that DHS really effed up big time at the QB position on your team.
Feel free to disagree with me. Any chance you will start a Kaep>Smith thread on your board to see how many side with you?

No he wont.

Tebow is lovable, Kap is very unlikable.

You are a respectful poster so I am not trolling you, but in hindsight Smith should have gotten his job back once he was healthy. We all know what Alex has accomplished (or didn't accomplish) leading the 9ers. One thing is for sure, I give DHS credit for knowing Smith's strengths and weaknesses and limiting Smiths chances to hurt the team.
One more thing, Alex had done a great job for your team under Harbs direction. Just looking at team wins/losses meant he should have been able to keep his job. Just look at what he has done in KC.

Sorry for being clueless, but who is DHS?

I think Harbaugh was in a very difficult position after Kaepernick played so well while Smith was injured. I almost feel like it was out of his hands even though he was the head coach, if that makes sense. Even if this decision doesn't turn out well for the Niners, I can't really blame Harbaugh for making the choice he made because there was a sound basis for it. He wanted a QB who was more than a game manager, so he took a risk on the unproven commodity. We'll see what happens. It's still too early to give up on Kaepernick.

DHS is a term of endearment for your coach. It stands for DouchbagHarbaughStyle. Breaker will inform us if I misspelled that incorrectly.

My guess is that call (starting or trading Smith) was purely on Harbs. As HC he should be the guy that makes that determination.
As a division rival that has been through the troll wars, understand that your QB situation gives me plenty to crow about.

I don't give a fuck what anyone else says uhsplit. I can only speak for myself. If you think I have to answer for every post loss vent thread on every 49er forum on the internet you obviously have some grade school issues you need to deal with before you can even have a smack argument let alone a real one. At least effectively.

Secondly... "illustrate my thoughts" ?? Yeah, why don't you go get your etch a sketch and illustrate your thoughts for us.

I don't think that is true. He did quite well, surprisingly so. I was concerned that maybe a gigantic gorilla just fell into the lap of who was our biggest rival at the time. As time has gone on, that perception has changed.

Ah, I see. Thanks! Harbaugh definitely plays that part well. The great thing is that he doesn't care. He is fighting for his team, and I can appreciate that.

Regarding Kaepernick, I think there is a lot of knee jerk reactions and shortsightedness in the Niner fanbase right now. It's laughable the kind of hatred that Kaep is getting right now from Niner fans. Many expect him to be Joe Montana or Steve Young right now, and they seem to forget that he is a young QB. Maybe he will never develop further, but surely it's too early to give up on him.

The great thing about the Niners' situation with Kaep right now is that they get all of this year and next year to figure out if they want to shell out the big money to keep him. The bad thing of course is that the Niners are trying to win a Super Bowl while at the same time trying to develop a franchise QB.
