The bias against Ohio State is obvious
I just enjoy how far they take it

I would much rather Ohio State continuing to win and piss ESPN off to the point they have to pimp New Mexico State over Ohio State.

Sure beats being 2-8

I've noticed and I'd feel the same way you do. Some people just seem to get too wrapped up in what some gooberdicks think about their team. Don't get me wrong, I like Bama being talked up by the same gooberdicks, but who wouldn't. That's really all it is though, talk. There's still games to be played that will tell real fans what they need to know about the top teams.

I don't pay too much to ESPN. Everyone has a different opinion. That is why tOSU has Kirk Herbstreit

AP Poll is like the Rose Bowl. Meaningless but still the Granddaddy

Ive heard that line before. Rather win in the Rose than get smoked in the BCS

It may not be fair for this season, but the Big 10 has earned their reputation as a 2nd rate conference. When you can't even win 50 percent of your bowl games other than 2 years out of 10 people will be skeptical of your SOS. Don't shoot the messenger.

Bowl results last 10 years

2012 2-5
2011 4-6
2010 3-5
2009 4-3
2008 1-6
2007 3-5
2006 2-5
2005 3-4
2004 3-3
2003 3-5

The only reason Baylor isn't firmly in front of Ohio St in the rankings is because they are Baylor. If they were Texas or Oklahoma they would probably be in front of Florida St with the voters too. The computers would be in favor of Florida St most likely though because the Big 12 just isn't as strong this year. People want the Big 10 to prove themselves before giving them the benefit of the doubt again.

P.S. I know the Big 12 has shit the bed in national championship games too and in the Cotton Bowl. The rest of the conference at least wins most of their bowl games against the Big 10 and Pac 12 which in turn gives them credit with the pundits.

Meh...mostly it's Mark May, he's the only one over the top. The rest of them are just saying the same things every other talking head is saying on any channel, or in the polls. May and Holtz have at least one team they have contrasting opinions about every year. They clearly don't believe half the shit they say themselves...it just makes for controversy and ratings...think of it as a season long final verdict. Last year it was Notre Dame, this year it's Ohio St. who knows next year.

It'll be Ohio State again

which is sweet!

that is really what a fan wants from their team to be good enough to be inconsideration every single year.

This is such a midguided, bullshit approach. Every year, the B1G plays 3 top-end SEC team in the Gator, Outback and Cap One bowl, and then we've had to face the Pac 12 champ which recently has either been an elite Oregon or an even more elite USC that has been full of NFL players. Then our B1G - Big 12 matchups have been lopsided as well. Look at last year's matchup for example:

8-5 Wisconsin (who was only there because Ohio State wasn't allowed to be) vs. 11-2 Stanford
8-4 Michigan vs. 10-2 South Carolina
8-4 Texas Tech vs. 6-6 Minnesota

All these of these lopsided matchups ended up being very narrow losses. You call that embarrassing for the conference? Because we came extremely close to pulling 3 huge upsets? This doesn't even count 4th place in the Big 12 facing off against 8th in the B1G Purdue. Or how about a couple years ago when 4th place in the Big 12 Oklahoma got to face 8th place in the B1G Iowa?

How many top end SEC teams do Big 12 teams face in bowl games? How many times have you had to face Oregon and USC recently when they've been extremely good?

Despite all of this, the B1G still has more wins and a better winning percentage in BCS games.

The Big 12 has bowls against the Big 10, SEC, and Pac 12 yearly. To be honest, the Big 12 and Big 10 don't face off in a yearly meaningful bowl game. The Big 12 plays their meaningful bowl games against the SEC and Pac 12. Educate yourself man. The Big 12, SEC, Pac 12, and Big 10 all play tough bowl games. You have been losing them. You have some of the greatest programs in college football history in your league. Stop crying about unfair bowl games. You are the richest league in the nation with some of the largest population centers to draw talent from. You have the largest stadiums in the country too. There is no excuse for your poor performance in bowls other than pure underachievement. The Big 12 is a 10 team league with no population outside of Texas. You should be running over our 4th place team with your 6th place team if you are living up to your potential. Frankly, you just aren't outside of Ohio St for a long time now. Don't get mad at me, get mad at your conference mates for not investing all that football money they make back into the program. Your own damn coach has said as much. I think he knows what is necessary to be in a successful football conference considering he just came from one.

Dude, nothing you said at all follows logic.

First of all, we have to deal with obvious disadvantages like weather and actual educational standards.

Secondly, schools like OSU and Michigan are really rich. Schools like Michigan State, Iowa and Wisconsin aren't, yet they've all put out some quality teams lately. Whatever all of this "money" you think they have is spent on is irrelevant to this conversation. You're still expecting them to face unfairly matched bowl opponents and somehow end up on top. That's total bullshit.

Thirdly, no you do not play anywhere near as hard a bowl lineup as we do. We regularly face 3 of the top 5-6 SEC teams in bowl matchups and then the Pac #1, and then 1-2 ridiculously lopsided matchups with the Big 12. Your bowl tie-ins are who knows with the Fiesta, the Pac 12 #2 and #3, one SEC tie-in with the Cotton Bowl, and then what has been a mid- to low-level B1G team or 2. Gee, I wonder which conference is more likely to end up with a better bowl record.

Damn some of these buck nut fans are absolutely retarded.

Nevertheless I expect a thank you from every ohia stater when the pokes beat Baylor Saturday night. Had it not been for the luckiest game in this "great" mountaineers season, tOsu would need two B12 teams to lose before the seasons out.

But with Baylors injuries and the pokes hitting their stride, I fully expect a Cowboy win, thus putting this convo to rest.

Actually, even if Baylor wins out - as long as we win out and beat a 1-loss Michigan State team and Wisconsin wins out, 2 very likely things - we will finish ahead of them most likely.

And then tOSU gets their ass handed to them by Bama?

You don't know what a poor school is in the Big 10 just stop it. All of your schools are state flagships or at least land grant research institutions with large enrollments (outside of NW which is very wealthy in their own right) in some of the most populous states in the nation. Save your poor school shit for some idiot you can manipulate with lies. You have a bunch of socialistic athletic leeches in your conference that won't spend money on football but would rather invest in the cheaper sport of basketball.

You sound dumb also by claiming to play the Pac 12 #1 as an accomplishment when that is a BCS bowl and every conference plays one of those. We play the Pac #2 and #3 in a non BCS bowl and the SEC 3 or 4 depending on how many BCS bowl teams they get. Those are wildly considered to be in the top 2 or 3 conferences year in and year out. Take some ownership of your conferences failures. I readily admit the Big 12 has disappointed this year and multiple times in the NCG. You just can't do it because you are a huge homer with blinders on.

I expect Okie State to beat Baylor, considering we are Okie States only loss, I'd think that they'd be ahead of Ohia St already and if they both finished undefeated, it'd be the pokes that went instead of the buck nuts (should FSU or the gumps lose).

However what you mentioned is certainly plausible too. N I expect nothing less from a fellow Red Sawx fan!!!!

Sox has every excuse imaginable to explain why the B1G sucks so bad. He was like that at ESPN, too.

Ohio State still has a better win than Baylor right now.

If Baylor beats the Pokes, that's probably a better win. But if MSU wins their next two, they'll probably be ranked #8 or better and would be a better win than OK State.
