It may not be fair for this season, but the Big 10 has earned their reputation as a 2nd rate conference. When you can't even win 50 percent of your bowl games other than 2 years out of 10 people will be skeptical of your SOS. Don't shoot the messenger.

The only reason Baylor isn't firmly in front of Ohio St in the rankings is because they are Baylor. If they were Texas or Oklahoma they would probably be in front of Florida St with the voters too. The computers would be in favor of Florida St most likely though because the Big 12 just isn't as strong this year. People want the Big 10 to prove themselves before giving them the benefit of the doubt again.

P.S. I know the Big 12 has shit the bed in national championship games too and in the Cotton Bowl. The rest of the conference at least wins most of their bowl games against the Big 10 and Pac 12 which in turn gives them credit with the pundits.

Secondly, schools like OSU and Michigan are really rich. Schools like Michigan State, Iowa and Wisconsin aren't, yet they've all put out some quality teams lately. Whatever all of this "money" you think they have is spent on is irrelevant to this conversation. You're still expecting them to face unfairly matched bowl opponents and somehow end up on top. That's total bullshit.

Thirdly, no you do not play anywhere near as hard a bowl lineup as we do. We regularly face 3 of the top 5-6 SEC teams in bowl matchups and then the Pac #1, and then 1-2 ridiculously lopsided matchups with the Big 12. Your bowl tie-ins are who knows with the Fiesta, the Pac 12 #2 and #3, one SEC tie-in with the Cotton Bowl, and then what has been a mid- to low-level B1G team or 2. If Baylor beats the Pokes, that's probably a better win. But if MSU wins their next two, they'll probably be ranked #8 or better and would be a better win than OK State.
