Everyone at one point or another is a new fan of a team, that would be your first band wagon, just because you choose to blindly stand by an organization does not mean you were not a bandwagon fan once.

And now I realize I am not a fan, the word fan is short from the word fanatic. I am not fanatical about a team. I am logical. I do not let hypocrisies caused by irrational thoughts to cloud my judgment. I am not a fan, I enjoy watching the NBA and great players play, but fanatical about an outcome I myself have nothing to do with seems sad to me.

Being a new fan of a team, does not make one a bandwagon fan. A bandwagon fan supports whoever the "hot" or "winning" team is.

For example, if you were a Lakers fan last year when most experts were picking them to reach the finals and now you're a Clippers fan, you're a bandwagon fan.

If you were a fan of a different team and now you're suddenly a Heat fan, you're a bandwagon fan.

As I've posted before, in my younger days, I used to play basketball at the same park every weekend. All through the 80's most of the guys out there were wearing Lakers or Celtics gear with Magic or Bird Converse shoes. Then, in the 90's, many of those same guys were wearing Bulls gear and Air Jordans while claiming to be "lifelong Bulls fans".

That's a bandwagon fan. You are jumping off of one bandwagon and onto another, rather than sticking with your team through thick and thin.

One thing most Heat fans have realized during the first 3 seasons of the big 3 is that we will never overreact to losses in November and December. Indiana/Chicago will have 6-8 cracks at Miami this year so I expect them wo win their share of games. I get worried about this team if they are struggling in late Feb/March

Well sorry i'm not one of them LA is my home & has been all my life...Purple & Gold is all i know

And if you hear old stories from Laker fans it's because Lakers have been a part of LA culture for over 50 years of NBA history...thats saying something
