I came down on the guy for the loss vs. the Broncos since he gave the game away in the final 2 minutes with the pick.
In the interest of fairness.....I have to call out the D.
Yesterday vs. the Lions the offense gave the defense the lead with 1 minute left. The Lions were out of timeouts and needing a TD.
If you've been a football fan for longer than 5 minutes you can answer this one:
If the other team needs a TD, time is winding down and they're out of time outs, what part of the field do you protect the most?
A: The sidelines.
Detroit got 2 big pass plays and they were both down the sidelines.
Then Stafford gives that 'clock' signal as he comes up to the line on the 1 yard line, but instead of clocking the ball he dives over. Gauging by the reaction of his Oline, Stafford just did it. No one knew but him. He dove over the top, and extended the ball to tie it. The XP gave them the lead.
Can't blame Romo for this one.
That had to be a long plane ride home for Dallas - maybe they put the defense in with the luggage in the bottom of the plane.
The Lions turned the ball over 5 times. Yes, FIVE times and still won. Granted, Romo and the offense should have done more with those turnovers but still....when the offense gives you a 6 point lead with 1:00 left you should be able to keep the other team out of the endzone - especially if they have no timeouts.
