I can't believe I'm going to say this but I hope the NCAA just accepts the self imposed sanctions and calls it even. As much as the NCAA has screwed up with discipline they have no business sanctioning anybody anymore.

Miami's football program will not receive a bowl ban but will lose nine scholarships as part of sanctions that will be handed down by the NCAA, a source told ESPN's Joe Schad.

The Hurricanes will lose three scholarships annually over the next three years, the source told Schad.

Additionally, former Miami men's basketball coach Frank Haith will be suspended five games and former assistant Jorge Fernandez will receive a two-year show-cause penalty, a source told ESPN's Jeff Goodman.

Ncaa shouldve done that right after they got busted for being dirty. Afyer dragging it out even further they had to impose something to save face. Rumor was they wanted their own imposed bowl ban, but miami balked. Would have been followed by appeal, lawsuits and miami driving the final nail in the ncaas credibilty anf authority.

can the ncaa just save itself a lot of time & effort by instead of investigating & then punishing a school just have a tiered process*

tier #1 = no investigation, everythings swept under the rug
who belongs to this tier? only sec schools

tier #2 half assed investigation, slap on the wrist penalties, or no penalties whatsoever
who belongs in this tier? only ACC schools (yes this includes notre dame)

tier #3 normal investigation, normal penalties.
who belongs in this tier? b12, aac, mwc, sun belt, c-usa

tier #4 abnormal investigation (or in PSU's case no investigation), extreme, severe, & unprecedented penalties
who belongs in this tier? pac12, b10, & any current BCS busters

*by tier process i mean base the penalties purely on conf. affiliation

oh wait.......they already do this:L

And letting a potential recruit sleep on your couch and not charging him draiage for both gas and the depresiation on your 2002 Chevy Malibu on a 2.2 mile round trip to McDonalds and back is a Lack of Inst. Control violation? Ya, I see the logic.

I was betting USC and PSU fans chiming in with "not fair" first. I didn't think about Boise.

-usc
-oregon
-ohio state
-michigan
-penn state
-boise state

^^^^
all of those schools received above average sanctions for their "violations" within the last few years

meanwhile unc, miami, & auburn get anything from a get out of jail free card to a slap on the wrist

sports illustrated literally handed the entire case to the NCAA on a gold platter and the ncaa couldnt pull it off

if the ncaa couldnt find enough evidence in this case then its pretty obvious as to why they couldnt find any dirt on cam newton manziel or saben

Total of 9 (3 per year scholarship reductions) and a reduction of 3 contact practices in the Spring from 12 to 9. Ya, still feeling it, and no one on the team snorted 2 grams of cocaine, got multiple BJ's and sent their mom $5k in cash. Let me know if you still don't get it.

I dont think the self imposed was enough for the 10 years of money however since this has been in limbo so long I think the NCAA should just leave it as it is and be done.

so basically:
sleepy on the sofa of a players home & driving his car to mcdonalds in boise is the same as free drugs, free hookers, free booze, giant yacht parties, & paying players in miami...........
