They were never that good of a team to begin with. Their D was pretty mediocre even last year, and they have a worse running game, a QB that has been above average his entire career but never bordered elite territory, an old TE with another year on him despite his playing, and I'll give them two great receivers.
The only position they are 'elite' at is wide receiver and possibly TE. Everything else is average spare QB (I'll give them above average).
Very mediocre team. An elite WR group and an above average QB will not win you a lot of games... and Denver has had a cake schedule.. not sold on the Broncos either.
Ryan was borderline elite last year
Better to go into the half 17-10 instead of 17-7.

Theoretically yes, but it would not have mattered(assuming no added momentum-same game being played). If it was 17-10 then the falcons would not have went for it 4th down late in the fourth quarter those 2 times, they would have kicked the field goal to tie the game... so instead of losing 28-30 they would have lost 27-30... although they might have had time at the end to score again...
