Maybe the Browns are going to try to pull off a suck for Luck type of season?

The problem with that strategy is there is no Luck in next year's draft.

Perhaps not. However - there are several very good QBs coming out (Bridgewater, Hundley, etc). Much better than Weeden & certainly better than anyone who came out during the last draft.

The Browns are stockpiling picks & could be very good in the future with Lombardi at the helm. They can always find a decent replacement RB in next year's draft. The only problem is that they are writing off this season, but honestly that may have been the case anyhow.

As some previous poster already said, it is a qb driven league these days. Therefor anybody who suggests that cousins could not get a first rounder is an idiot.

He looked good against the eventual Super Bowl winners, beat the browns handily, and looked good this preseason.

When the time comes, the redskins will hose somebody out of good draft picks, and I would not be surprised if they traded him for a number one.

Well, then I'm an idiot. No way we get a first for Cousins unless he gets playing time and shines this year.

If by Idiot, you mean someone who can be objective about a low ceiling, solid backup/marginal starting prospect (nothing wrong with that) at QB's value, Idiot as charged. As for reality, you will NEVER get a number 1 for Cousins....not in a million years

i think you underestimate KC . you could be right about the 1st round pick , but KC is a good qb

Well I wouldnt say its impossible but not very probable. Pats only got offers of 3rd round Pick for Mallett, When Schuab was traded it was the Texans moving down in the first round and getting Schuab. The only team stupid enough to give up a 1st rounder in recent memory for an unproven backup was the Bills and Rob Johnson. So to think you are going to get a 1st round pick for Cousins is setting yourself up for disappointment.

This isnt Madden where you can get a first round pick for anything.

Flynn was traded for a first rounder to the Shehawks, then to the raiders for two draft picks.

Kolb was traded for high draft picks to Arizona, then traded again for draft picks.

I'm not saying that he will be traded for a first, but that it's not impossible either. That's silly.

You're right, better not underestimate KC, they just went to 3-0. Oh wait, Kirk Cousins lol. I liked Cousins at Michigan State, and still do. I still say never on a number 1. He would have to kill it if he got extended playing time(in which case, they wouldn't trade him anyway), but even then, look at the QB's coming out this year. If you traded for Cousins, you would have him under contract for 2 more years after this one. Anyone drafted in the first round under the new rules is controlled for 5 years now, 2nd round or later 4 years. So you would be giving up the rights to a QB that you could have on his rookie deal for 5 years to get KC for 2? Don't think so. I like him, just doesn't make sense

Flynn was signed as a free agent in Seattle. And then traded in the 2013 off-season for a fifth-round draft pick in 2014 and a conditional 2015 selection.

Kolb was traded to Arizona for a second-round pick & cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.

Matt Cassel, who at least had a near full season of work & success couldn't get the Patriots more a than second-round pick. I don't know where you get this idea that QB(s) are being traded for first-round or multiple high-round draft picks. Even though the NFL is now a QB driven league, unless you are trading a Pro-Bowl type QB near his prime, you aren't going to get a first-round pick for him. And with the recent colossal failures of Flynn/Kolb/Cassel, I would think the price of acquiring a backup QB would-be starter has dropped drastically.
