it will be a team that has an offense that can overcome a great defense. (on a given day)
For the NFC that is the Falcons, Saints or Packers. in that order of likeliness (if it happens at all)

I don't know that for sure, but I remember that some other team complained about it. I think it was the Giants accused you of it. Wouldn't be surprised.

But I do know Bill Burr is right about your stadium being a symphony stadium. And that any 12th man award should go to the architect of it.

The hawks were accused of piping in sound back in the kingdome and the league investigated it and did testing and found the allegations to be unfounded and it was dropped. And dipshits have brought it up ever since.

As a long time season ticket holder at Husky Stadium it is no surprise that the Clink is as loud as it is. They modeled it after the sound qualities of husky stadium and it's been well known for a few decades what the cantilevered roof system does for the sound. Those fans saying the stadium isn't what gives us that extra edge are in denial. The fans know they can create more sound here so they do more to add to it, but without the partial roof system the clink wouldn't be nearly as loud.

Whether it's the fans, the stadium, or both it still creates an atmosphere that is bloody well hard to run an offense in and gives them the best HFA in football.

You won't beat the Seahawks in seattle without the best defense on the field. No offense is going to work at their normal peak here so you need to create lots of 3 and outs and turnovers to beat them. Name a defense with big play stopping that create a lot of turnovers and they have a chance. Oh wait, we destroyed them last week. Nevermind.

Yeah, so much bullshit. It's a stadium just like many. You can trot out all the random stories you want about how the stadium is designed for noise, we were just as loud at the Kingdom. All that BS about how noise reflects off this or that I'm sure could be applied to many stadiums. Give it up. The Clink is loud (just like the Kingdom was) because the fans go there with the intent to be as loud as possible. That's it...end of story.

Your refusal to accept reality is amusing harold. You really look foolish fighting this fight. The acoustical design of the stadium is a widely known fact. Stop embarrassing yourself with outright refusal to acknowledge this.

Thank You! At least you're a fan that can remain objective about it.

Does't mean that Seahawk Fans are not loud or very passionate about their team at all. It just means that without the "happy accidents" designed into the CLink, there is no way it would be as loud as it is right now.

Not trying to rain on anyone's parade, just telling the truth. Which is backed up by the designer, as well as the guy who measured the noise level.

Thank You!!! Jesus, why is it so hard to admit.

As far as piping in the sound though, although it shouldn't be held against you, because nothing is proven... just because they investigated and couldnt' find anything doesn't mean it didn't happen. More than likely it was just the acoustical characteristic of the stadium that made them think they were doing it.

I still think the Niners can beat you guys there but not without Crabtree and Manningham. Haven't shown it yet but Kaep is still young and has even less experience than Russell as a starter.

It's about matchups so I think Green Bay has the offense and enough defense to beat you guys there. Atlanta does as well. I'm not saying it will happen but it's certainly possible.

So your saying that the guy who designed it is lying? He was asked to design it by the Seahawks owner, and admits that the extra boost to the noise was a "happy accident." But this is all a lie? He was forced at gun point to lie about it?

Did you even read the whole artice?

Damn your funny. To tell you the truth I didn't bother at first to read the whole article. However even with the designer saying the extra boost in noise was a happy accident, it doesn't change my mind. I've seen the stadium and really it's a huge stretch to say this stadium is some kind of engineering marvel beyond all other stadiums when it comes to producing noise. It may be true that it has features that accent the sound, but if so, so do other stadiums. Really we were loud and proud at the Kingdom and we are loud and proud at the Clink. To hell with the pundits.

Anyone who was in Husky stadium in the 90's knows what stadium acoustics does to crowd noise. I was at the stadium for the Nebraska night game in '92 where ESPN registered over 130db on the sidelines. Now the metal seats on the upper deck help a lot there as fans stomp on them. That rattle is deafining and the clink doesn't equal that, but for having just over 64k the clink does what Husky stadium did with over 70k and does it without that metal stand backdrop noise. The fans make up the lions share of it, but the roof does aide in it.

You do realize the Seahawks were without Browner, Clemons, Irvin, and had their left tackle out most of the game right? Add Harvin due back before the next meeting and I'm not sure you can even beat them at your house, more or less back in Seattle.

Yeah, it doesn't surprise me you didn't read it.

The curves on these canopies are also key. “They are large parabolas,” says Bill Stewart, managing partner at SSA Acoustics, which is based in Seattle. Stewart was responsible for measuring the record-setting noise on Sunday night. “The curvature and angles of the canopies act to focus the sound energy onto the playing field, producing higher noise levels.”

So now I'm guessing the guy who measured the sound at the stadium is also lying? He works for a company that is BASED OUT OF SEATTLE, but he's also lying?

If Seattle loses at home, & I am only saying "if"
It wont be a defensive game. Don't see Seattle losing a defensive game. It will have to come from a team that can score points quickly. Which as the question was an NFC team, is the Falcons, Saints, & Packers.

Any team can have a bad game at home and a game where RW throws a pick 6, maybe lynch isn't in sync, a couple of fumbles, etc. It takes that kind of game for many home teams. One with as solid of a defense as Seattle demands it.

Come on now dude. What I said was even if what he said was true and I have no reason to doubt it, I think the same could be said for other stadiums. I know why I'm hung up on this, but why are you?

I agree. You need a defense that can take a beating up front for 3 quarters and still have fresh legs. Out of all the opponents last year, the Rams d-line was giving them the most fits until the last 5 minutes of the 4th quarter. A team would also need a mistake free offense and a coach that can keep his team calm if things start going south.

Because I find it funny that the guy who designed the stadium, the guy who recorded the noise level at the stadium, and a guy from Penn State who specializes in structural acoustics, all same the same thing. That the design of the stadium boosts the noise levels higher from the fans on to the field, yet your main argument against all these people is that you have been to a game before.

You see how crazy that sounds?

I agree. & some offense is gonna have to make Seattles defense have a bad game to beat them at home. (IMO)
the 85 bears dominated the season with Defense. They had one bad game where they gave up a bunch of points. That is how Seattle loses a game at home to me. Defensive games plays into the Hawks home field advantage. An offense will have to try & take the fans out of the equation.

Yes I realize you guys were missing players as well. I'm not so sure the guys playing in their place aren't just as good. The defense looks better than last years. Of course you played us at home and an anemic Carolina offense on the road. It's early man, calm down a little. I'm sure you're excited but it's 2 games in. The season has just begun.

Calm down how? All I did was answer the question at hand and said what type of team it would take to beat Seattle at home. I still don't know they can go over .500 on the road given the subpar performances of the offense in both games so far. Maybe you confuse me with someone else, but I'm seldom delusional.

All I said is what type of game it would take to beat them at home. Chill out.
