Unless the B1G is going to allow NU to recruit illiterate partial qualifiers who can't get into any other school in the country, it's going to be tough for NU to get back to the top. Plus, NU has competition outside of Norman. In the Big 8, NU only had 1 tough game a year; wasn't like that in the Big 12 or B1G.....

Nebraska leads country in Academic All Americans. Texas, with four times the student body, and their "tough" admission standards, routinely ranked either 11th or 12th in the Big 12 for Academic Progress. I can even provide links.

6. Have a coach that has won a grand total of TWO Big 12 titles. Hey, that just so happens to be the same amount Nebraska won in the Big 12.

Sort of funny about the competition only being Oklahoma. Let me see, Colorado won a National Championship in 1990.

Shall we talk about Cleve Bryant? He molested several women on the campus of University of Texas. Texas was smart, they paid them all off. Texas Penal Code 22.011.Sexual Assault, a felony in the Second Degree.

What about Simkins Hall at Texas? He was only a leader of the KKK and had a dormitory named after him.

Brittany McCoy, a 20-year-old African-American student from Dallas, said it's time to remove Simkins' name from a place where black students may live.

"I was shocked," to learn of Simkins' connection to the KKK, McCoy said. "Texas is a school that stresses diversity. I know I wouldn't want to stay in that dorm, and wouldn't want my people staying there."

I think it's a big deal only because it helps justify firing him. Nebraska's play on the field was already a pretty big indictment, but I think this is just an additional nail in the metaphorical coffin.

Even if he did think it was a private conversation, Bo Pelini is naïve to think that it would or could stay private. He's the head coach of a major college football program, everything he says is public.
